A decent debut album by the drums. Its probably as good as this type of music can carry you. Yes its fun, but if they really want to be reigning in the applause they should probably adopt a more grown up sound. Its perfect for the soundtrack to some teen flick. The highlight of the album has to be "Down By The Water".

A good debut, full of indie pop gems. I wouldn't say a masterpiece or groundbreaking but I would say highly enjoyable and great fun. The melodies going on here are fantastic. In general the band keep thing simple here and it works to the bands advantage. The results show that you sometimes you just can't beat the classic guitar/bass/drums/vocals combo.

The album is overall fun, though it is at times repetitive and is best enjoyed in small doses.
  2. Juxtaposing winsome 50s pop against 80s post-punk scored the Brooklyn band a lot of blog buzz, but the sound loses its novelty when stretched over a full album.

He frets ceaselessly about love and mortality, but the songs' twitchy, hummable effervescence seems to vanquish all the world's problems.
