You know, I'm a live and let live kind of guy, and I would happily ignore the BEP as they stormed the charts and gave 11-year-olds orgasms across the globe, but the radio is always on at my workplace. I have therefore had to hear their songs MANY MANY TIMES. And just like Nickelback, what seems merely mediocre on first listen, on the 50th starts seeming VERY VERY BAD. Aggressively bad. Deliberately stupid. Stultifying by design. Listen, I don't care how funky your beats are, but I am incapable of enjoying a song that contains the lyrics "tonight's gonna be a good good night" repeated 24 times! (This is true.) And not when they're delivered by an auto-tuned, genderless pop mannequin! Do all you fans mean to tell me that you can actually detect a smidgen of real joy or excitement in this delivery? Any inspiration whatsoever in the production? Listen, if you like cute pop music, then get the latest Royksopp album, and stop poisoning yourselves with this shit! Expand

Only a couple of stand out songs, and those would have fit just as well on a Fergie album. This album feels unimaginative and tired.

The only reason it gets a 1 is because of Boom Boom Pow. The rest of the songs are pure crap. Why did the Peas sell out?

Never been a fan but after being assaulted by their singles every day this summer is was hard to not at least check it out. The singles are catchy, obviously made as throwaway pop and if that is all your looking for it does it's job great but the album as a whole is weak and will be forgotten as soon as the last single is taken off the constant airplay.

Black Eyed Peas has fallen victim to the Auto-Tune craze that's destroying hip-hop. I can only hope will.i.am snaps out of his own egoism and remembers the fun but socially aware style that put him on the map.

Boom Boom Pow steals its lyrics from the Flight of the Conchords' song (she's so hot) Boom, which was making fun of this kind of crap.

One of the worst albums ever produced. The catchy club songs take too long to get going, and the tracks are uncreative and boring. Fergy doesn't deliver or contribute anything powerful to group, and she's the reason for the Peas' despair.

The E.N.D is slightly less annoying and slightly more catchy than it's predecessor 'Monkey Business' but it's not a big improvement. It's very similar to Monkey Business in that it starts off well but slowly deteriorates with fillers nearer the end. 'Boom Boom Pow' is catchy Pop/Electrofunk that encapsualtes the current 2nd wave of electro music. 'Meet Me Halfway' is another pop orientated song but is more mid tempo and it cools you down after you've just danced your ass off to 'Rock That Body'. The later tracks however, are boring and so commercial not even the pop market is yet the embrace them. These include the strange song' Now Generation', it neither embraces or criticises the world we live in today and 'One Tribe' very much like 'Union' from Monkey Business which is a forgetful song asking for world peace. The album is an improvement on Monkey Business but nothing on the albums before Fergie or Elephunk. Expand

Anyone who listened beyond 'Bridging the Gap', and 'Behind The Front' would be bitterly disappointed unless mere 'pop' music is something you enjoy. Rhythmically and lyrically disingenuous is the most concise I could be about this album.

In my opinion, BEP really hasn't been producing music with substance since Elephunk (and even that's a stretch). If that's what you were expecting - well, it just wasn't going to happen. As far as this album goes, it has a really catchy beat overall and is a great summer party album. Sure, none of these songs are gonna be remembered in a couple years, but it's fun right now, and I love it. I'm still debating whether I like auto-tune or not... I don't think it quite works, considering BEP should focus on better rap in their songs. Expand

I actually am very happy with the new BEP album. Ithink it steps up the game from their previous efforts. It is definitely an all-out in your face pop album. Great beats, thoughtful lyrics and Fergi-Ferg. What more could you want for a summer playlist?

I have just bought the END and I think that it does not stand for "Energy Never Dies" ,but instead just the simple and plain end of a group that was delivering music extasy. Its like waiking up one day to find out that your favorite dish was transformed into something you would have never liked in the first place. For the first time in my life I REGRET that i did not downloaded this album (illegally) so I can erase it as easily as I got it. The END ended in my trash can, I should have donated the money. Expand

Though lyrically terrible, the music makes you move and want to dance. Definitely the best album from the band, even though it doesn't showcase the best of Fergie.

Better than "Monkey Business", but not as good as "Elephunk". They tried hard creating club bangers, but they failed (only "Boom Boom pow" is great as a club track). When the band is more 'underground' (like the bonus track "Mare"), they are better.

I think it's one of the best albums from 2009 and may it's their best album. It's pleasing to the ear. Some of them are really party songs and there are some slowlier songs too. It convinced me! I got this album and I recommend it to everyone!

A pretty good album, I like how they're experimenting with a more futuristic sound, with Boom Boom Pow serving as a great intro song, the album continues with it's futuristic sound for the most part of the album and ends with "Rockin To The Beat", a great album overall. Oh and do you know about the bonus disc from the deluxe version? IT has 4 more new songs and 6 remixes, 2 remixes of elephunk songs, and 2 of monkey business, oh and they're not forgetting about their pre-breakthrough period! They also have a remix of "Joints and Jam" from Behind the Front, and a remix of "Weekend" from Bridging The Gap. Recommended for any BEP fan or dance fan. Expand

I have been a black eyed peas fan since everything that came after que dices, and i can say that this is the worst album ever. I was anticipating this album for a while and it really dissapointed me, a lot of the funk and rap is just gone and there has been waaay too much computer voice stuff added to it. I couldn't listen to anysong except boom boom pow for more than 10 seconds.

This is an album that starts off sublimely, with Boom Boom Pow and Rock That Body being pure dance nirvana. The next several songs are all pretty great too, but, around track 7 or 8, the music slowly slides downhill. Granted the lowest it gets is still not bad, but there are a number of reasons for the downward slide anyway. For the most part, the lyrics are pretty dumb throughout; I can only stomach goofy lyrics about dancing, drinking, and just generally partying for so long. I can also only stomach Fergie’s over-the-top, nasally voice for so long, and she is given too much time on the album for my taste. I feel she is better off on her solo efforts than randomly inserted in the mix with the Peas. Even the songs themselves are sometimes just too much: a few of them meander on well past their expiration date, and will.i.am’s usually fantastic production work feels schizophrenic in these particular songs (ex.- Missing You), as if his sole purpose was to drag the song out at the cost of coherence within the context of the individual song. For the most part, though, will.i.am’s production is what saves the album; it is consistently state-of-the art, and, at times, incredibly moving. For example, on I Gotta Feeling, its like he taps into the zeitgeist, and I can just imagine people all over the world jamming to the track at the same time. So, for generally mindless but fun, and occasionally exhilarating, dance music, at least half of this album will probably meet your expectations. Just be prepared to have your nerves grated from time to time! Expand

Not their best album, and I guess I should stop hoping they will return to their roots, but this isn't a bad album. They clearly decided to go with a dance feel for this one, and they succeed in doing so. When I listen to this one, I find myself singing and dancing, and feeling like I should be going out to the club immediately. P.S., get rid of Fergie, and go back to being the HIP HOP Black Eyed Peas for at least one more album. Expand

Well. Wear do i start. 2 storming tracks 'Boom Boom Pow' and 'Rock That Body'. But really, that's it. Why did they change soooo much. I like to take each album as it comes, a seperate body of work, new sounds, vocals etc - but i can't help thinking this is just one step to far. They installed a mixer and used it till it stopped working. And may i also add - LYRICALLY AND VOCALLY, awful. 'Meet Me Half Way' - what a slap in the face to people who can actually sing (although this does not mean Fergie can't sing), but at times autotuning SHOULD be used, and Apl's ''rap'' is just awful, the ability first of all, and secondly the lyrics, a child could have wrote it !!! Bad Album !! Expand

POSITIVE - Not many to choose from. If anything i don't have any positive overall comments, just 2 songs that i believe save the album from a 0. 'Rock That Body' and 'Boom Boom Pow', not fantastic songs, but better than the rest. NEGATIVE - The lyrics - lets begin with those. Without selecting certain tracks (I Gotta Feeling *cough* *cough*) i feel they thought ''lets just write lyrics that even the slowest of people will remember'', i mean honestly it's like rap for children, to me they have lost all respect within the hip hop genre and have converted totally to pop, and not in a good way. Another problem i have with this album is the vocals, i know people complain about auto-tuning, but sometimes it's an essential. Fergie has a good voice, there is no question about that, so why did they decide not to use it ? And lastly - who let them get their hands on whatever god awful equipment they decided to use to mix ? It's like they went insane, like a day out to try out new sounds. OVERALL - An overstep. Trying to hard. All went wrong. The Energy Never Dies ? Yes it does, or did...a long time ago. Expand

The E.N.D. is a very good album indeed. It is produced decently. My only concern is Fergie's rapping. She has a decent voice, I would've just kept her to singing her pretty little voice off. The Peas have become more commercial, but they aren't totally selling out their style their energy. They make great MUSIC, regardless if it is hip-hop, pop, or electro. They are experts at making music and making awesome music. Expand

This album showcases the best of The Black Eyed Peas talent, and contains their best tracks yet. Filled with hard-hitting electronic beats, this album has perhaps only one or two let downs. Highly recommended, this album is the best from the BEP's, and I believe, the best Mainstream album of its time.

All the critics who gave this album a good score were paid by Interscope. Professional reviewers provide scores based on how much the label is paying them. The actual quality of the music does not matter. The Black Eyed Peas are a good example of this. They are a manufactured pop band chosen by the RIAA to succeed. The only reason they are success is because of the massive amount of brainwashing done by their label and MTV. The E.N.D. is their worst album yet. It's just collection of mainstream music's "hottest" trends(like autotune, and dancy techno beats) in one album. Expand

An album that prooves "moving with the times" can be taken to the extreme, not by changing your sound or genre but by suddenly loosing all manor of talent. Bad rapping, bad lyrics and bad auto tuning do not make for a good purchase. Save your money and just buy 'Rock Your Body' and 'Boom Boom Pow', the best of a simply awful collection.
  42. Aug 27, 2011

The use of auto-tune gets a bit too much - and the lyrics are often uninspired, but the Peas have exceeded in making a solid electro album which is smarter and kinder than electro normally is. Boom Boom Pow works really well as a concept song to establish their electro sound and the rest of the singles except Imma Be (the repetition gets annoying) are also solid electro anthems in their own respects. There are a couple of letdowns, but this album mostly works and it is slightly underrated. Expand

I mean even the words are not enough to describe how good this album is. Huge synths + amazing lines and joyful tunes. Even Black Eyed Peas can't top this album.Their greatest work Expand

  1. The E.N.D. (Energy Never Dies) is a mess of pop/dance/rap crossover.
  2. Group mastermind will.i.am's attempt at social commentary on 'Now Generation' comes off more like an ''I just got DSL!'' laundry list. But when the group's glitchy future-funk beats sync up with Fergie's unabashedly feminine melodies, as on the sweetly insidious 'Meet Me Halfway,' they find pure Top 40 nirvana.
  3. Most of The E.N.D. doesn't ask too much from those fans. Its more substantive musical and thematic statements are interrupted by many others showing the Peas' deep, deep commitment to a good party.
