  • Summary: Chris Zane (Les Savy Fav) produced this third album for the Toronto duo-turned-foursome.

It's Josh Reichmann and James Sayce's glam-shaded and '60s pop-tinged songwriting that really makes this record cook. [Dec 2005, p.105]
  2. A curiously good time from beginning to end.
  3. Capturing a combination of beauty and dread, the fright of the everyday, this album is irresistible fodder for rainy Saturday afternoons.
  4. Not to malign their previous catalog, which certainly trumps most of today's post-punk regurgitates, but Family Myth proves fewer studio tricks lead to tighter songwriting.
  5. The band's third record is consistent, but that also means that there's no standout song that can bring these guys into the limelight.

An upbeat garage-pop act who are never cloying. [Dec 2005, p.204]
  7. This new sense of excursion comes with its costs, and like many of their predecessors, it robs this Toronto band’s tunefulness in the name of unnecessary experimentation.
