Like the album's namesake, The Fire starts with a small spark that quickly builds itself into an emotional blaze that burns steadily across all 11 tracks, taking the listener on an exceptional musical ride.

There's not a ton of new ground broken, but The Fire is proof that Senses Fail consistently toe the line between singing and screaming better than most of their peers. [Nov 2010, p.116]

The Fire maintains Senses Fails'This album is well worth a listen, especially if you are into the post hardcore / hard rock kind of scene. The Fire maintains Senses Fails' ongoing commitment to their signature hardcore, metal style punk rock, and delivers both lyrically and musically. This album was the stepping stone between Life is Not a Waiting Room and Renacer, the latter seeming to show how they have evolved as a band, and what is to come in the future. I feel that this album gave them direction and made them who they are today, even if many may disagree.

The album is not without it's flaws, however; most songs seem almost the same, or at least very similar. I also feel that there is a lot of wasted potential in the songs, and that some could have been slightly more developed. Overall, however, it is a fantastic album, and delivers the way you would expect it to, and I would definitely recommend this to those that like this heavy kind of sound.

This album isn't as good as "Let It Enfold You" or "Life Is Not A Waiting Room", but it still delivers. Full Review »
