  1. This is, undoubtedly, one of the most beautiful records of this year, and its very indistinctness forces you to go back to it over and over.
  2. It’s one of the best late-night albums of the year so far, and deserves to be remembered in the best of 2009 polls.
  3. So The Floodlight Collective is a mostly elegant listen, and one whose failings are part of its theme: Like a vague recollection, it's still a little hard to hold onto after it's over-- pretty albeit somewhat ephemeral.
  4. Accessible and elusive at the same time, The Floodlight Collective is an addictive debut.
  5. While The Floodlight Collective offers a great set of songs, I’d still like to see Pundt deliver a more idiosyncratic album through which we can truly hear him expose himself.
  6. Don’t dismiss The Floodlight Collective for the outstanding introduction to Lotus Plaza it is, because in reality, it is a winning release in more ways than one.
  7. Under The Radar

It's the kind of cohesive "album" album that's hard to find these days. [Spring 2009, p.72]
  8. The Floodlight Collective exudes something astonishing and rare, particularly for a record on the fringes of indie rock, scoping into abstraction. It is, more than anything else, sincere.
  9. Uncut
    60
The results is something scrappier, but loveable than Deerhunter's billowing drone. Less sonic cathedrals, more tripping at chapel. [Apr 2009, p.91]
  10. Despite the similarities, there’s actually a few brief moments in The Floodlight Collective where Pundt one-ups the band he derivates from, but there’s unfortunately as many that are boring enough to negate any previous triumph.
  11. Part of what makes it so distinctive is also what ultimately frustrates. The songs bleed into one another until the reverb-drenched vocals and phantasmic spirals of sound become heavy-handed, almost overwhelming.
  12. Although Pundt demonstrates an interest in styles beyond the common denominator of ethereal pop, as on the doo-wop-inflected 'Quicksand,' the album’s strongest moments are those that exploit the similarities.

Deerhunter. Atlas Sound. Lotus Plaza. If you love one of them, you're gonna adore the others two. Personally, Lotus Plaza is my late nightDeerhunter. Atlas Sound. Lotus Plaza. If you love one of them, you're gonna adore the others two. Personally, Lotus Plaza is my late night record to be listened with a glass of old scotch and the occasional gandja. Sheer perfection.
