This album is amazing! Each track is its own distinctive character with a lot of personality. Tracks will get stuck in your head, and you won't know why, but you just have to keep listening. This to me is very much the sound of controlled chaos, which is something I always look for in music.

Very beautiful and dreamlike; borderline psychedelic. Some very skilled drums and almost haunting vocals. I look very much forward to the next release.

The Fool is an outstanding piece of work from a quartet who will hopefully go places in a world where women are judged by either the T&A factor or how "weird" (Gaga) they happen to be image-wise. These ladies are the real thing, and individuality is what allows them to stand out from the rest of the crowd of indie bands and girl groups out there. Expand

Warpaint is an all girl psychedelic rock band. That alone is pretty sweet. It took me repeated listens to understand and appreciate the music they're displaying, but wow. They are a great band. All In All, The Fool is a great debut album and I can't wait for their next release. B+

I've been in love with this album for a month or so now. It radiates an atmosphere that gets your attention and puts you through your own paces without compromise. One minute it's haunting and reflective, making you try and shed some light on the decisions you've made and the lives you might have affected, and the next it's comforting and full of consolation that whatever path you have trodden thus far has indeed been the right one. Beautiful vocals, excellent guitar riffs, and more heart and soul than ten albums that occupy the top reaches of the charts. An exceptional debut... Expand

With a sound that comes off as natural, Warpaint represents a much needed departure from the ubiquity of synth-pop, and The Fool is a welcome detour.

They instead favor the resplendence of melody and an astonishing grasp of songwriting prowess, and the overall effect is dazzling. [Year End 2010, p.74]

Their stupendous debut full-length, The Fool, triangulates Moon Pix–era Cat Power's ghostly, morbid, gorgeous bedroom folk with the Slits' lithe, muscular post-punk.
