    Greatest Hits isn't arranged chronologically, which isn't a detriment; if anything, skipping through the years emphasizes just how consistent the Foos have been, always delivering oversized rock & roll where the hooks are as big as the guitars.

    As a compilation, Greatest Hits offers few surprises other than that Grohl somehow resisted the temptation to title this thing The Best of Foo. Though the record conspicuously lacks the band's breakthrough single, "I'll Stick Around", the first 13 tracks make good on the promise of the title and provide a relentless hit parade of modern rock radio staples.

    So few bands may be better suited to the greatest-hits treatment, and with the group going on hiatus (following 2007’s middling Echoes, Silence, Patience & Grace), now is the time to do it. The standard edition collects 13 of the hits and features two songs, “Wheels” and “Word Forward,” recorded for this compilation, and a previously unreleased acoustic version of “Everlong.”

    What Greatest Hits brings into clearer focus is how Foo Fighters have always been somewhat out of place and perhaps mischaracterized. It also shows how solid the band's catalog of tunes is, and how well it has stood the test of time. That is, if you like classic rock.

    Great songs, great compilation. The new ones stand up with all the hits from through the years too.

    It's hard to rate a greatest hits album. Their collection goes far deeper than this, but if you haven't listened to this band, maybe this is a good introduction. I do believe Foo Fighters are one of the best bands to come out of the 90's and they deserve recognition. To not have The Colour and Shape listed on your best 90's albums is ridiculous.… Full Review »

    A great collection of some of the Foo Fighters greatest songs! If you are a fan of the Foo Fighters its a must buy!
