    What a weak album. Candy Shop is the strongest song on there barring "Hate it or Love it" but thats also on The Games album.

    i think this album is better than get rich. and to whoever said 50 doesn't have talent, lets see if you can do better. 50 is one of the best right now and his last song "like it or love it" is my favorite on the entire album cuz it says the truth that he's gonna be around forever.

    5 hot songs, which is more than you can say with most albums. a few crappy ones. the rest are solid. way better than i expected and a solid, conistent effort. not too different from get rich or die tryin, but if you liked that one you'll probably like this. the 5 hot songs: Gunz Come Out, Ski Mask Way, Ryder Music, Position of Power, I Don't Need Em

    For being one of the most hyped rap CD's in years, 50 flat-out fails to live up to the hype. Is it fair to judge an album based on the hype it's riding on? Normally no, but 50 thrives on it. The album is chock-full of boasting and gangsta cliches. This would all be fine had it been inventively done, but this album feels so cobbled together that it has no real cohesive structure, For being one of the most hyped rap CD's in years, 50 flat-out fails to live up to the hype. Is it fair to judge an album based on the hype it's riding on? Normally no, but 50 thrives on it. The album is chock-full of boasting and gangsta cliches. This would all be fine had it been inventively done, but this album feels so cobbled together that it has no real cohesive structure, thus seems scattershot and a bit overboard in running time (something I would normally never speak negatively about unless I thought it was a serious issue). This album is also full of filler. Plain and simple, that's the truth. The stand-out tracks are the ones that, for the most part, move past this tough-guy taunting garbage and head straight for the dance floor or the bedroom. Far darker and much more ominous than Get Rich, Massacre is almost gruelling to listen to in one sitting. Low bass, dark beats, violent lyrics... 50 has become a full-blown cliche. I would not suggest purchasing this album if you have high expectations... there's an EP's worth of good material ("In My Hood", "Candy Shop", "Disco Inferno", "Outta Control", "Get In My Car", "Just a Lil Bit", and "So Amazing"), but the rest is barely up-to-par, if that. Save your money and download the songs listed above, seeing as they really are worthwhile.… Expand

    the album kind of sucks i dont know why dre let this album get released and plus i think 50 cents days are numbered with beef know with everybody from jarule, jadakiss, fat joe, nas who is nothing to play with look at beef with jay z even he couldnt take him out and beef with the game his own boy i dont know how much longer he got.

    This cd is just very good... the variety is pretty big, and sometimes 50 even sings instead of rapping. The beats and rap are simply fantastic, and with G-Unit and Olivia on several tracks, the cd will be the best of this year.

Some tracks are good but there's too many rnb type songs on the album but that's what Snoop and LL are doing at the moment.

Tthere is so much music available today that you should NOT have to resort to this. You're already on this site, scan the left side of the screen and click on a link that's got a star next to it. I'm preaching, I know. People should be able to listen to what they like, and I understand this. I can guarentee you however, if you spend five minutes with the internet looking for a better album, you will enjoy it much more than this trash. Listen to Piggy Bank. He's laughing at you. I was at a Run-DMC concert, and they asked a crowd what their first single was. All people said was just 'Walk this Way.' Pick up a Geto Boys album, or an Outkast album, Doggystyle, or a Rakim album, and they all had more lyrical content this album ever had. Well, say you like this song for the beats and style. But for lyrics? No way. This isn't clever nor is it poetic. In a sense, it isn't really bashing, but just plain, flat out honesty of one man's opinion. Does this album have good beats? Yes. The producer is Dr. Dre, and he always has good beats. But would 50 survive on beats of a mediocre producer, if given more mellower and less bouncy beats through lyricism? Probably not, but all he's done is rap from Dre's production. From a lyrical standpoint, he's lowered our IQ of the mainstream completely. Kanye West, the Roots, Common, they speak from the soul. For 50 cent, he doesn't rap about real stuff on the albums, so it doesn't count for anything, and so it's just all a money grab for him, but that's the mainstream, taking advantage that we don't know any better.… Expand

They'd react with on college and high school campuses: Hip-hop with message, what? This is exactly what's wrong with hip-hop today, that today's generation now believes that hip-hop cannot be insightful, although it can be, and has been early on and at various moments through time, and still can be. In a lyrical sense, it kind of is dead because no one cares about the poetic aspect of it anywhere, and they just want to get their crunk on and their dollars. But that's just fine with the public, they all brush the good stuff to the side for party music anyways.… Expand

    Overall, a pretty bad CD. There were a few good songs, like the Hate It Or Love It Remix or Disco Inferno, but for the most part 50 raps were bad. The production was excellent but 50 just didn't the effort into this CD like he did Get Rich Or Die Tryin'. I would say this is more of a pop CD rather than a rap CD because of songs like So Amazing and Candy Shop.

    The beats on this CD are amazing and the lyrics are decent. There are a few great songs and a bunch of solids ones as well. Despite what 50 says, this CD won't top his first, but it's still a great rap CD. I'm not sure why so many people are giving it such low ratings.

    I really wanted to like this album, but at best, it's mediocore. The best track is a baltomore love thing. There are some ok tracks like piggy bank, rydin music, but the whole album is basically two things. A cliche of Gangsta rap, or a rehash of get rich and die tryin, a fairly superior record. Hopefully you're third attempt might be better...

    A great sequel to GODT, the massacre is still packed with a near-perfect and explosive production by Dre and Em, 50 is still angry and dope on the mic. Maybe relying a little bit more on club bangers than the previous one, The massacre is still true to its gangsta ambitions. Piggy bank and Gunz come out are highlights on the album.

    I think this album was a disappointment at the time of release as it failed to follow up the great GRODT. However listening to this album it is actually a better album when it was released.

    Debuted with a classic in GRODT, with The Massacre retaining some elements of that greatness. This is clear in songs such as "Piggy Bank" and "Gatman and Robbin", but the album is prevented from being great due to poor songs like "Candy Shop" and "So Amazing".     the third album of a new breed baby! 50 has them classics like candy shop, hate it or love it, disco inferno and just a little bit. he was on fire in the early 2000s. classic dre produced and rapped by 50 album.

    some obvious fake 50 cent fans out there - dont recognise good music when they hear it
