  1. Uncut
    60
    A decidedly sassier affair. [Jun 2006, p.110]
  2. Urb
    60
Like Stereolab backed by the Muppet Babies. [Jun 2006, p.114]
  3. Mojo
    60
Vocally and melodically, Durant aims for nursery-rhyme simplicity, sometimes to her detriment. [Jun 2006, p.100]
  4. Under The Radar
    60
Though the production is adventurous and innovative, the melodies and songs themselves can be a bit too similar to each other, with nearly every track finding a tasteful balance of playfully meandering melodies and plaintively wistful rhythms. [#14]
  5. Beyond the novelty of their fragile arrangements, Psapp write solid, thoroughly accessible songs.

Songs with 'little noises poking out' (as Psapp perfectly describe their own sound). Ignore any of the lukewarm reviews above (they Songs with 'little noises poking out' (as Psapp perfectly describe their own sound). Ignore any of the lukewarm reviews above (they are no doubt written by critics who consider The Kaiser Chiefs to be the height of musical innovation). Psapp sound something like the Young Marble Giants fed through a modern filter of Herbert, Lali Puna and Matmos and are quite brilliant. The songs (and little noises) on The Only Thing I Ever Wanted are at least as good as those on their previous album and another little 'pop' gem (or what pop would sound like in a world where the CD buying public weren't complete morons).
