GuarnierL.Jun 10, 20029It's simply gorgeous.

ClearKentJul 18, 20025A very tight but soul lacking album, electronic and too perfect. Simply too good.

BillyP.Jul 20, 20027That essential spark that made Endtroducing so great is just missing here. Lets hope it is a transitional record.

EricG.Jun 8, 20049This is good stuff. This is truly shadow's style. Im goin to be listenin to this on my ipod 4 awhile. Best thing since Entroducing.

LawrencePApr 30, 20059Please don't compare this to "Entroducing". That's just not being fair and you will enjoy this record.

sdjgfkhsdkjsdJun 2, 20023it sucks compared to endtroducing and preemptive strike

-
BobS.Jun 3, 20029Not quite as good as Entroducing, very worthy follow up considering the album it is following up though.

EdwardP.Jun 4, 200210Worthy follow-up to Endtroducing.

-
MacMDec 10, 20039Rivetting from start to finish. Perhaps not Q-U-I-T-E as multi-dimensional as Endtroducing but indespensable all the same.

PatD.Jun 22, 200210Fantastic, easily the best release of the year and as good as Entroducing.

-
NicholasB.Jun 23, 20026The Private Press has some carefully precise tunes, but "The Number Song" still kicks "Walkie Talkie"'s ass!
-
-
ghJul 15, 20028not as good as entroducing, but still rocks other new albums, a little to light on the drums, a little to heavy on the synth

ChoadmasterBalzacJul 30, 20022You can hear him trying to "move on" to the next thing when really what everyone wants to hear is the same old. I'd like to say that I felt differently but my vibe has not changed to match his. Maybe that's what makes him a great artist? Or maybe the reaching just sounds pretentious. This really could be a Moby or Fatboy Slim album.

NobleL.Aug 23, 20029Just what I expected from Shadow ... the unexpected - 'You can't go home again' will be on my playlist for years to come.

JayMalJan 12, 20048Not as great as Entroducing...., But still a solid album all around.

80By using his hip-hop chops to express some next school emotions, Shadow comes up with something that doesn't just sound new, it feels new. [Jun 2002, p.86]
-
80This is much more than the usual retro-action.... DJ Shadow remains elusive to the end. [Jun 2002, p.127]

The depth of his production sense and the breadth of his stylistic palette prove just as astonishing the second time out.
