Style trumps niche every time here, and in its efficiently compact sub-hour runtime there's plenty of opportunity to let that style run through all kind of territory.

Likely prompted by Ultra Records, The Remixes Vol. 1 is much more of a marketing tool for the imprint than a career highlight for Araab.

The DJ's fleet-fingered precision and explosive, intimidating drum-machine attacks are a distinct form of performance art, and one that's hard to fully appreciate through headphones alone; Remixes is simply no substitute for his live act. But these tracks are still a crucial part of his identity.

[He] remixes songs by EDM royalty (Wolfgang Gartner, Benny Benassi, Steve Aoki), while adding three of his own tracks (see the cartoony noir of "Darkside," one of the album's highlights). His deviations from that style are iffier.

It’s a solid collection of beats and it’s interesting to go back and see how Araab reworked a song from another artist in order to make it something original. Poor design choices, however small they may seem, hold this back from being as enjoyable to listen to as it could have been.

The track has a great dubstepy feel to it, and leads in a good set of following remixes. The first original song on this 'remix' album is 'Keep In Motion' which is a killer tribal-house/leftfield style instrumental track that is very solid and captivating. The whole album is great and every track is worth listening to from start to end. The album feels well put together and there is a solid theme from Araabmuzik which is hard to put my finger on and describe but it felt throughout the whole album. Good bass beats give the album teeth.

A strong hip-hop track with an EDM inspired background outros the album leaving this listener wanting to load up the album again right away.
