A great combination of favourite and top charting singles by one of the UK's best bands. The only weak point in my opinion is the exclusion of "Twist", "Fly Me Away" and "Alive". I also wish there had been more rarities to be found.

Goldfrapp are one of those bands that are really pure synth pop but have alternative credibility probably due to the fact that they've had relatively modest commercial success. While technically not a best of album, this compilation really gathers their highest quality tracks. There are quite a few tracks on here that you'll know but never knew were Goldfrapp. "Ooh la la", "Black Cherry" and "Yellow Halo" are my favourites on this. Expand

A great collection of the best from Goldfrapp. If you are lover of the band this album will come as a beautiful summary of their work to date. Nothing more needs to be said.

Directional swerves are admirable, but make an uneven set, especially as the material from their first three albums has more palpable sparkle than the rest.

The songs reunited on The Singles should be celebrated by anyone fascinated by the UK's long tradition of tuneful eccentrics.

    Rich and radio-friendly pop. [Apr 2012, p.101]
