  • Summary: The singer/actor known for her TV alter ego Hannah Montana releases this Wal-Mart-exclusive EP featuring the Jonas Brothers on the live track "Before the Storm."

  1. An eclectic Walmart-only mini-album, Cyrus works her ?husky chirp over big-beat disco-garage (''Talk Is Cheap''), paranoid synth-rock (''Kicking and Screaming''), and ?Les Miz-style power balladry (''Obsessed'').
  2. Cyrus has always sounded older than her years, and as she leaves her teens, that's a good thing--especially since The Time of Our Lives shows her music is catching up to her pipes.
  3. The Time Of Our Lives is a great pop EP drowning in a sea of bilge.
  4. "Party in the USA" is a cute pop song, with a clever clash between feathery jazz guitar chords and a booming synth bassline serving as hook. But it's downhill from there, thanks to a run of inferior ballads arrested only at the very close by one rather superior ballad, "The Climb."

Miley's Album or EP is definitely good. "When I Look at You" is the best track on the album and shows Miley's softer side. Songs like "Party in the USA" and "The Time of Our Lives" are the songs to get up and dance to Expand

This EP shows her amazing, incredible vocals better than her other albums. Miley has an incredible voice and I think these songs show how good she is.

The Time Of Our Lives doesn't stand out in any kind of way, but somehow, it's slightly effective. While I disagree with Cyrus's use of the word "piss" -- considering she's still a tween star -- the album certainly gives her younger fans something to dance to, with pop rock tracks such as "Kicking and Screaming" and "The Time Of Our Lives", and power ballad favorite "When I Look At You". "Party in the USA" is the album's lead single and standout track, which proves to us that Cyrus is musically gifted. Expand

None of it stands out, and it probably won't win Cyrus anymore awards, but overall, it's an adequately classy, charming teen-pop album that all the tweens will go crazy over. Its standout tracks are "Party in the USA", the album's lead single, and "The Time Of Our Lives", a cutesy track for the kiddies. Expand

The songs, per se, are genuinely nice. Cyrus did quite a good job singing, that's for sure. However, the album is a little bit too much to take. There is a thin line between singing and shouting for no reason, and she crossed it. Yes, we know you are a wonderful singer and you work very hard. But there is absolutely no need for you to shout all the time to prove it to us. Try sing like those normal artists. Don't be so hysterical, that will just scare people away. Expand
