Feb 11, 2014With The U.S. Albums, we get a cleansed version of the experience, many times utilizing the UK remasters.... Sure, it’s a quibble to harp over better quality, but there is an argument to be made for historical accuracy.

UncutFeb 11, 2014This box set might test that familiarity [of the Beatles catalogue]. It's like returning home to find the furniture has been moved around, or thayt someone has built new rooms to put your stuff in. It's not that these are bad rooms--they're just not quite where you expect them to be, and certainly not how the architects conceived the building. [Mar 2014, p.90]

Feb 11, 2014It's hard to argue against the use of the 2009 remasters, as this is the best the Beatles have ever sounded. And not only does this sound good, it looks good, so it's a handsome way to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Beatlemania, although anybody who owns the 2009 boxes in addition to the 2004 and 2006 sets may find it hard to justify another purchase.
