The album that Pink Floyd made in 1979 marked a milestone in progressive rock, and this box set captures everything perfect and imperfect about the album.

Hearing this evolution in microcosm is fascinating: few albums are ever as lavishly and carefully produced as The Wall, and by going through this "Work in Progress," it becomes clear just how much labor Floyd and producer Bob Ezrin exerted on the finished album.

Immersion is a good way to characterize the grip and whirl of construction recounted on the two CDs of demos in this seven-disc box, which includes a previously released recording of the 1980-81 stage show.

The only thing that the Immersion Edition is really missing is any extensive liner notes.

I don't know about any fancy "Experience/Immersion Edition" but Pink Floyd's Wall is a truly remarkable album. It has the classic rock 'n' roll feel yet it has a crazy heart felt passion no other album has. This album that tells a story about a rockstar who has a wall built between him and the rest of the normal world, is truly a MUST HAVE! one of my favorites. Full Review »
