There's a lot of knocking of this record but while it might be a tad self-indulgent, bar a couple of tracks it manages to keep the quality levels consistently high throughout. Concept albums are always divisive and more often then not its an effort to go back and listen to them again, in the case of "The Wall", it really rewards repeated listening. People will argue and argue about which Pink Floyd album is better, and frankly, I'm not going to participate in that debate, because it's Pink Floyd. All their albums are great... well, there are a few exceptions... but as for The Wall, it's an amazing Double LP, featuring some of their best songs. Psychedelic rock at one of its finest. 10/10 Album of the Year - 1979

All in all, a classic album. Pink Floyd paints the story of a rockstar building a mental wall around himself, and what results is one of the greatest concept albums of all time. Not as good as Dark side of the moon or wish you were here but amazing none the less. its an operatic masterpiece that has kept its reputation through the years and is made even better on the Experience/Immersion Edition.

No necesito ser fan del rock para saber apreciar la magnificencia de este álbum musical, es inmensamente arrollador y grandioso por dondequiera que se le mire y escuche.

88/100. My favorite album of all time, even though I admit it is not the best album ever made (although it is very much up there). Split into two halves, it only gets better as it goes on. I would grade the first half of the album as 85/100, and the second half as 91/100. Amazing throughout, and a treat to listen to.

Pink Floyd deserves more respect with David Gilmour's fantastic psychedelic rock sound. Great music, great film, great artwork, this album should be positively received more over zillions of centuries.

Amazing album (the original) which changed my life in 1979 when I first received a cassette tape of it from my next-door neighbor. I have the "Experience" version, and it is plenty of cool new stuff to enhance the "experience" of The Wall. The real prize here is Waters' demo excerpts, 22 recordings chopped into a dizzying 14-minute medley of delusional grandeur. The bassist sounds not like a jaded rock star, but like an outsider folk artist – sheltered and off-kilter – finding escape in lo-fi pop oddities full of echo, warm synths, and cross-faded effects.

Needless to say, The Wall's Immersion Edition is a visual thing of beauty, ...The undeniable black eye on this Immersion Edition, however, is the way by which they handled the inclusion of Roger Waters' solo demos... the majority of this coveted cache of rarities is whittled down to a series of poorly edited snippets that barely last a minute or even a few seconds in some instances.

It's as complete as any Floyd completist could hope for. [Apr 2012, p.101]
