    Ndegeocello's dreamy vocal styles buttress this boudoir-freindly work. [28 Sep 2007, p.106]
  2. It is Meshell Ndegeocello’s most complete and fully integrated record and a defining work that in evading category seems to generate its own rules of engagement and enjoyment.
  3. It's untamed, topsy-turvy, elliptical - and one of the most exciting albums I've heard all year.

Even while wearing her sexuality like an honor roll sticker, Ndegeocello is dazzlingly delicate. [Nov 2007, p.98]
  5. Even in its duller moments--the flaccid ballad 'Shirk,' the truncated sax solo that closes 'Virgo,' rainbow messages from God ('Elliptical')--this record fails to depart from the serious verve that has kept this artist relevant and refreshing for years.
  6. It’s this friction between the worldly and the cosmic, the erotic and the angry, that gives these songs their unique spark.
  7. Though her deep voice is mixed down a little, most of Meshell Ndegeocello's seventh album--five of its tracks reprised from last year's "Article 3 EP" recalls 2002's "Cookie."

Very good album.A more rocking conglomerate than previous ones, with beautiful sound-scapes and small bits of real jazz.
