E.RockMay 2, 200310Kicks my ass all the way home after school, and then gets up early so that it can kick my ass all the way to school the next morning.

ElliotSMay 2, 200310This is the best thing to happen to rock in a generatin, after years of overly polished, ultra produced crap comes along a record steeped in soul and humanity...this is expression, human expression not the diarhea of a faceless profit oriented "music" corporation

JeffSJul 23, 20039This is CD give me faith that rock is not dead. Being from Ohio I never thought anything good would come out of Akron, boy was I wrong. IF you like this CD check out their first one "The Big Comeup". That is just as good, if not better. Like Homer Simpson says "Don't ever stop a rockin".

Jan 30, 201210Kick ass blues rock and my favorite Keys record to date. Basically love every track on the record. Favorite tracks: Hold Me in Your Arms Hard Row If You See Me Thickfreakness
-
Feb 12, 201110An exceptional effort for a band this early into its career, Thickfreakness provides listeners with a prodigious heap of independent blues-rock goodness. One of, if not the, best Black Keys records to date.
-
Dec 25, 20116Thickfreakness is an improvement on the first album but can be a little dull and repetitive in the later songs of the album but still a relatively decent record.

Jan 15, 201210Gotta go for a 10/10. Such a brave, intelligent album, thoroughly blues from the first track to the last, back to the roots of rock n roll. I approached the album not knowing it would be so "pure" sound-wise but expecting a more elaborate rock n roll texture. Needless to say the simplicity of it all conquered me.

What you hear on Thickfreakness is no less faithful than what old black guys on porches on the Delta have churned out for the last hundred years. [June 2003, p.105]
-
80A rich, compelling album. [Jun 2003, p.93]
-
80Sounds like something carved out of the earth, a soulful howl of Hendrixian guitars and Zeppelin stomp.
