Well, it's the Hip-Hop record of the year, which is really saying something. Track for Track, it beats Dre's record and downright shames Big Boi's disc. This is the first Elliott record that I haven't felt compelled to skip through one of the tracks, and each song just seems to get better and better upon repeated listens.

While not as good as "Under Construction" and "Miss E... so addictive" is still an interesting and clever effort form the hip hop queen

While it may not have many good tracks, the ones that are will knock your socks off.

This is remarkable. I loved it. Not perfect, like Miss E... So Addictive, but with more filler, which is a good thing. Kinda of in repeat mode from Missy's World, though.

'pass the dutch' carries this. had it not been included, i would've given this a 3. had this been a test, missy would've failed.

This is one of the best Missy Elliot albums. "This Is Not A Test!" has rapping and singing. Nobody will ever beat Missy Elliot, nobody will even beat this album.

Esse álbum é revolucionário. Missy Elliott junta forças com Timbaland e cria algo inovador. Pra ser rainha de algo no mínimo você tem que revolucionar algo e Missy fez isso.

Missy again has crafted another masterpiece of music. words cant explain how much i love this album. she not only has herself a great producer that crafts beats to go with Missy's style but always aligns herself with some awesome artists.

Criminally underrated! She deserves so much more credit for this album than she received. It has great upbeat songs that she's known for but was unfairly overlooked.

Thematically thin and, consequently, lyrically disappointing. [Jan 2004, p.96]
  2. There's not any new groundbreaking here for the consummate groundbreaker, but when the music is this good, there's no way in hell that should matter.
  3. This Is Not A Test isn't perfect.... But it's plenty close enough.
