It's another soul/pop record that's produced and sang to perfection. Modern, yet retro. Calm, yet fun. Had this record been released the same year as Amy Winehouse's 'Back to Black', Duffy's 'Rockferry' or Adele's '21', there'd have been an almighty scrap for album of the year.

Ren Harvieu on her debut album, refers to the heyday of '60s by songs such as jaunty "Open Up Your Arms", "Tonight" or the subdued ballad "Do Right By Me". Aside from the fact that even quieter songs are very melodic, a big plus on the disc is certainly artist's vocal, thanks to whom she enchants the listener.

  1. Through the Night aims for Dusty in Memphis, but it lands closer to Petula Clark.

What should be dull is transformed into something irresistible, thanks to her simply faultless voice.

This impressive debut belies Harvieu's tender years.
