  • Summary: Wu Tang Clan's Clifford Smith (aka Method Man) interrupts his budding acting career to return with his first solo disc in five years (and fourth overall). The guest roster includes Missy Elliott, Ludacris, Snoop Dogg, Ghostface, Redman, Busta Rhymes and RZA.

  1. Kanye West's debut aside, it's the essential hip hop album of the year so far. [Jun 2004, p.102]

Tical 0... takes that voice and plugs it into more than a dozen tried-and-true rap templates. [Jun 2004, p.104]
  3. 60
Feels like surprisingly generic party rap. [May 2004, p.126]
  4. 50
[He] sounds stuck in a rut. [June 2004, p.152]
  5. There's a sense of urgency when he is inspired by the production backing him, but when the beats coast along without much flair, Method Man does the same.
  6. A weak Meth album produced poorly and without imagination in the main, by an assortment of losers, with each track featuring a guest emcee.
  7. Bogged down by Meth's lackadaisical approach and reliance on guest appearances, Tical 0: The Prequel falls flat on its befuddled front.

Lackluster at best. Meth is lookin really bad in this one, and there are alot of different people on his record. ALOT! the track he does busta is hot. The Reggae Kardinal Official track is hot, both the rest is eh....OK. Meth tries to sound like the people that he is colaborating with. When ludacris is on that track Meth tries to sound like Luda. When Busta is on the track Meth tries to sound like Busta, thats pretty weak Expand

Just too weak for Meth-Tical. And I hear no Wu-style here. That's no good.

This album is okay at most. It seems to be put together for the masses, not for the true fans of the Wu. It falls flat when comparing to his last two albums, and will go by the wayside in the decade that comes. Expand
