    Although a very interesting album, Tides End fails to separate itself from the rest of the pop/alternative and electro albums that have flooded the music world. Tides End might have that 80's pop feel, but the music here is uninteresting and sounds like many other albums that delve into the world of 80's funk electro that this album tries to grasp, this album doesn't have potential becauseAlthough a very interesting album, Tides End fails to separate itself from the rest of the pop/alternative and electro albums that have flooded the music world.     It’s the change in an almost overall sound--when acts like The Human League, OMD, Ultravox, and Depeche Mode weren’t the only ones making ample use of keyboards--and Kilfoyle captures this incredibly well while retaining a still-in-formation yet already distinct MINKS sound, much in the way many formerly post-punk bands retained their own certain darkness throughout.

    A portion of Tides End listens like a dramatic over-correction into the electro-pop realm. However, by album’s end, Kilfoyle and Verbos find the intersection between vocal melancholy and production excess.
