This album is great. To this day, every song is still fresh. To me, at least.

This drek should be titled, "Timbaland Presents Suck Value." What a concept, a hip-hop artist trying to be shocking! With a supporting cast of has-beens and no-talents to lend a helping(?) hand, no less.

Amazingly addictive album. The beats are amazing, the combinations are fresh and each song is vastly different from another.

Disappointment... There's a slight difference between being ahead of the current times and what Timbo has presented here.

Just what i would expect from a producers album. The beats are massive, timbo raps surprisingly good. It's just fun to listen to it!

Definitely not great, even with big singles behind it. Definitely better than a "NOW 69" album. If you boy compilation cds like NOW and all other types, this would be great for you. It's good pop from good artists. Just slightly better than the usual mainstream dribble.

Timbaland is "the beat man". The beats on this cd are just amazing. There are atleast 3 great songs that you can dance to, and then you have all these songs with so many great new talents such as Keri Hilson. Excellent cd, very much recommended!

Not very good @ all. A couple of stronger tracks among a lot of really weak, even annoying ones. Very disappointing. I recommend just picking up FutureSex/LoveSounds (Timberlake) & Loose (Furtado)

It has it flaws, but when he gets it spot on no one can deny his talent. Their are lots of risks which pay off.

although the rock part isn't very good, this album has many original and absurd tracks. timbaland has always been ahead of his time, as are some of the tracks on this album. don't expect anything from this man, because he will always do the exact opposite.

Timbaland is the title, listening to this album is the equivalent to getting a piece of timber and repeatably smacking yourself in the head with it.

I do not understand what all the fuss about Timbaland is. He is a straight up media-hoe, only looking for an excuse to keep his sorry butt on television. He's hungry for fame, and I don't think people realise that. All the songs are washed up beats, that sound like it was created by a child, smacking around pans. Seriously, his music sounds like a cheap remix. Yeah, you want to I do not understand what all the fuss about Timbaland is. Listen to Timbaland man, he is so unique! I guess all you have to do nowadays is put a couple of drum beats over someone elses music to get big. Honestly, how is this cd any good at all? That throw it on me, or whatver the song is called, sounds like a pile of mess. It's noisy and Timbaland sounds drunk. How many vocals does he actually have in his songs of himself? All of the songs sound like it's THEM ft him. Which for an album, he claims to be TIMBALAND FT (Artist) is just sad. This cd, is just pure garbage. He must have been too busy producing other people's albums to even make anything decent for himself! I'll give him atleast a 1 for the audacity to release this! Expand

My suggestion is that you first listen to track #18 'Hello'; make up your mind thereafter. There are three or four more songs that are really good but it's a very mixed bag.

Shock value has 17 tracks and I wish I could say I loved all of them.....but I don't. Tracks 1-5 track 10 and 13-17 are all good tracks, the rest I could have done without but I think Timbaland is great and the beats he has on his album are completely HOT! Standout tracks: Give It To Me, Oh Timbaland, Scream, Bounce, The Way I Are, Time, One And Only, Apologize.

  1. [It] would be more accurately titled Timbaland Presents Slight Confusion or Timbaland Presents an Uneven Mess.
  2. Shock Value is a far-reaching and ambitious disc; a masterpiece, even, in its own way.
  3. Solid if unspectacular.
