    Overall Together/Apart is a very good record, and a few minor missteps from being a great one.

    It's a decent addition to the artist's already impressive resume, but fails to arrest the same attention his earlier releases are famous for.

    Effective as it is, that voice wears thin over the run of Together/Apart's 16 mostly guest-free tracks, as Grieves' interchangeable choruses and pensive verses about lost youth and addiction's pull begin to bleed together.
