    Merchandise come from the Tampa hardcore Florida scene where they used to play in really bad neighborhoods inside of containers. From there the lead singer found weed and drinks after a hard breakout, and since then has found a sound that harkens to both modern sounds of John Maus or more twee sounds of the ninetees, but mixes in with the dominant Moressey-esque vox.     While Totale Nite doesn’t tip toe around its skewed sensibilities, Merchandise demonstrates a healthy knack for turning its weirder, darker musical instincts into something palatable.
