They are definitely good enough to keep fans of modern heavy music pleased with the genre's continued vitality. [Aug 2013, p.83]

Their most accessible album to date. [20 Jul 2013, p.54]
  3. With Tracing Back Roots, We Came As Romans have shown just enough progress to make me believe that LP4 could be the game changer they’re looking for.

Both sides [metal and pop] work well individually, but bolted together it sounds confused. [Sep 2013, p.100]

It blends a more pop focused voice with a heavy aggressive sound that ranges for all audiences. However, I feel a lot of the songs portray no emotion and were written to meet a deadline for album production. The song that truly stands out to me is ghost. I feel that both Fade Away and Never Let Me Go were made simply to be commercialized and to make money and are the downfalls of the album. Collapse

Figured I'd give it one. Not a bad album here by any means but it's certainly got as good as their first two. Overall I give it about a 7.2/10. "Ghosts" and "Present Future and Past" are probably We Came As Romans's best songs ever. Sadly a lot of the rest of the album felt like filler. And one of the tracks ("Fade Away") is just awful. Kinda sounds like Nickelback. Overall if you're a WCAR fan, you'll probably love this. I just wish it would've been a little heavier and a bit more complex. I miss the epic guitar riffs and orchestral instruments that were present in the first two. Expand
