Tramp is simply her most fully-realized album yet, and that's all there is to it.

Matters of mistrust, isolation, and uncomfortable togetherness dominate Tramp, rolling through every track like a sick, creeping fog.

Much of that quiet sturdiness derives from Van Etten's singing, which anchors the music even as Dessner fills out his gloomy arrangements with dense indie-noir details.

Sometimes the lack of definition and the deluge of words grow tedious, but in these songs, all lushly arranged, as is the entire album, the effect is nothing short of riveting.

The album is undoubtedly a product of folk, which seem to confirm songs such as moody and also a bit soundtrack "Joke or a Lie" or lethargic, "In Line". You'll also may find interesting use rock patents in the alternative, melodic single "Serpents" or the introduction of mediterranean motifs in carefree "Leonard". Album without a doubt had enormous potential, but it has not been used, mainly becouse of indie rock inserts - simply listen to the first track on the "Warsaw". Collapse
