Apr 7, 2011It's by turns soft and loud, gentle and harsh, humanistic and totally machine. And it's very, very danceable. It's the album you were hoping Daft Punk would write last time, only Daft Punk didn't write it-but they did score a major assist from their friends here.
Positive: 7 out of 7

Sep 8, 2014First and foremost, this is a remix album; with very little to do with Daft Punk, apart from the odd sampling. The album itself, is not at all bad, and contains remixes from - well known electronic artists such as: The Glitch Mob, M83, Moby, Photek and Avicii. And even artists that you might even grow to like: Com Truise and Pretty Lights.
In my honest opinion, the tracks 2 (Fall - M83, Big Black Delta), 10 (Encom Part 2 - Com Truise) and 14 (Solar Sailer - Pretty Lights) are the highlights of the album and even would say getting the album would be worth it, even for those songs. If not, listen to them on YouTube, you won't be disappointed.… Expand
Nov 24, 2011This is what the Tron Legacy soundtrack should have been. As much as I may have enjoyed the Tron Legacy OST, the ost was still a very contrasting work. Their electronica never seemed to fully blend and merge with the orchestral tone. It was a valiant effort for sure but it is not classic. Reconfigured on the other hand is exactly what I had expected from a Daft Punk soundtrack. Full of life and energy, full of wild beats that just pump colour into what ever they're playing over. Any Daft Punk fan should pick it up and give it a spin.… Collapse
Apr 5, 2011Although lacking the cohesion and consistency of Daft Punk's own work, Reconfigured brings what many Daft Punk fans lamented the lack of in Tron: Legacy - the energy, excitement and joy that made Homework and Discovery so memorable. Reconfigured ditches the moodiness and suspense for the better - it comes out as the Tron Soundtrack that delivers what the fans wanted and expected from Daft Punk, not what the film's producer required. A must listen. Highlights: The Grid (The Crystal Method Remix), Rinzler (Kaskade Remix)… Expand
May 18, 2012This isn't a daft punk album. It's a Disney album. Daft Punk had next to nothing to do with this release. With that said, it's a rushed, money making album to milk Daft Punks hard work for Tron Legacy a little more. Great artists like deadmau5 couldn't meet Disneys deadline and therefor didn't make it on the album. Still, most of the tracks are decent enough: it still gets a 6/10 from me. I'm actually happy Disney did make this album, for daft punk wouldn't have done it. It's just a shame it was so rushed. Even the artwork is horrible. Could have been so much more!… Expand
Apr 20, 2011There's no denying that some people were disappointed by the original Tron Legacy soundtrack as they had big expectations and wanted to hear a proper new album by legendary Daft Punk. Those people should check out Tron Legacy: Reconfigured, a collection of fifteen electronic tracks, that make the soundtrack loud and danceable.
The tracklist includes some well-known artists, but it doesn't mean all of the remixes are great. In fact, there are some remixes that feel uninspired and unoriginal, such us the mediocre Kaskade re-work of "Rinzler" and club-friendly, soft remix of "Derezzed" by Avicii, which turns the excellent original track into something mellow and almost dreadful. The rest of the remixes range from average to very good, as some are just typical bangers that introduce nothing original (severely disappointing Teddybears remix of "Adagio for Tron") and the others show a much better quality than the others.
There are excellent remixes that justify buying this album. First one is the intense, dubstep-heavy remix of "Derezzed" by The Glitch Mob, then the second track "Fall" by M83 vs Big Black Delta, which mixes the original track with intense electronic synths, banging bass and unique style of M83. The third track is another great track, "The Grid". The Crystal Method takes the very best of the original track and emphasizes these pieces, artfully crafting another enjoyable remix. The other standout remixes are Moby's soothing remix of "The Son of Flynn", 80's like Com Truise remix of "Encom Pt.2", epic "C.L.U." remix by Paul Oakenfold and finally, the smooth remix of "Tron Legacy (End Titles)" by Sander Kleinenberg, which makes the ending of the album very enjoyable.… Expand
May 28, 2013There was not one bad song on the album. It is hard to judge these songs since the album is a remix album with Daft Punk's name on it. The best songs were tracks 1, 2, 4, 5, 6, and 9. The album is the most electronic sounding of all of Daft Punk's albums. The first ten songs seem like the core of the album and the rest seem like filler (albeit very competently made filler). This album is one you can listen to straight thru and is good for studying.… Expand
