TRST is a hell of a debut. It's also a reminder that as ubiquitous as they may become, there's plenty of life in the old synth yet.

[Trust] hit upon a nifty formula that veers between mid-80s Depeche Mode and fruity Eurodisco. [Jul 2012, p.84]

Equally capable of moving your ass as it is of rattling your nerves, TRST is probably one of the most haunting albums you might find yourself busting a move to in some time.

TRST is a f**king great dance record. While it is so much more than this as well, considering the negative connotations "dance" can have within much music discourse, it's initially, at least, the album's most notable appeal.

While the amount of raw material here may be daunting for some, there are plenty of surprising melodic moments to indulge in.

Trust never want to be seen to be trying too hard, but finale 'Sulk' is where it all comes together, like Chromatics with an evil glint in their eye.

It is the very overfamiliarity with those same [80's] tropes that makes TRST an ultimately unsurprising, par for the course listen.

Trusts debut album has been quite an interesting one. Filled with moody goth influenced dance tracks its really a breath of fresh air. This isTrusts debut album has been quite an interesting one. Filled with moody goth influenced dance tracks its really a breath of fresh air. This is what modern goth should be sounding like rather than the constant cloning of older death rock groups or Sisters of Mercy vocal clones. This is modern, haunting and exciting. This is a re-imagined updated Clan of Xymox with a jumpier beat and cleaner vocals. . Expand

Fantastic driving music, as long as you feel comfortable dancing in the seat of your car - TRST really gets the body moving. Collapse
