  • Summary: Following the unexpected critical and commercial success of M!ssundaztood, Pink returns with a third, even more rock-oriented album. Linda Perry returns to helm just a few tracks, with the bulk of the producing/writing chores falling to Rancid's Tim Armstrong.
Score distribution:
  1. Positive: 12 out of 18
  2. Negative: 1 out of 18
  1. While Pink's peers take incremental, cautious artistic steps forward, she's slyly fearless, choosing the right collaborators that help her create pop music that has both style and substance to spare.
  2. A hooky, engaging throwaway that expands Pink's range while holding on fiercely to her irascible inner child.
  3. Unlike other wannabes, Pink shares Madonna's two best assets: a keen eye for the next collaborator to further her cause and the ability to sound like Pink no matter what shape her cause takes. [Dec 2003, p.133]
  4. Pink's delivery says more than her often wince-inducing lyrics, but it means enough to make Try This an engagingly revealing album.
  5. Armstrong... gives it a welcome sense of cohesion.
  6. Ultimately there's something very 80s about Pink. Something very kitsch and plastic; something very 'Breakfast Club'.
  7. Pink pitches a brand of seriousness that is pure Lifetime-TV mawkishness.

Better than what would be expected. Brash, tough and compelling. Unlike M!ssundaztood, Try This has 13 songs(all of them) that never tire of hearing. Unlike M!ssundaztood again, there really isn't a song that will keep you from commiting suicide. Expand

I though the CD was very well done. I'm not a fan of her two slower songs on the album, but I absolutely love all of her rock tracks! Gotta' love it! Expand

DON'T TRY THIS! The title of the album is really inapplicable, because P!nk released her worst album with this. Despite a bunch of nice songs, 10 of the 15 songs are very uncomely. The lyrics go from mediocre to really bad and the wordplays are hurting my ears sometimes. The tunes aren't really catchy - too much electronic here - and her voice is also wack, partly. Expand
