    It's a stripped-down and straight-ahead rock record. [Apr 2014, p.121]

We Are Scientists make writing infectious, utterly listenable pop songs, over and over again, seem easy.

With some pop, college rock, post-punk and even shoegaze thrown in for good measure, TV en Français is the most complete We Are Scientists record. [Apr 2014, p.94]

It’s not all spot-on pop perfection: Return The Favor feels as if it’s been included just to fill the quota for an emotional, heart-wrenching ballad. However, this is a minor black mark against an album that ticks all the boxes for those who love cleverly constructed, 80s-esque indie with a pop twist.

TV En Francais isn’t less successful than its predecessors, but the tracks that show a band evolving naturally offer a more welcomed take on the band in 2014.

TV en Français is more a more muted outing.

Keith Murray and Chris Cain's vocal harmonies are still as tight as ever, flowing atop Sprinkles and Take An Arrow, but musically they sound in danger of stalling.

This may grate onThe science guys remain consistent and put out another album you're bound to like if you enjoyed their previous outings. This may grate on some as they haven't shown many signs of evolving or changing their sound since introducing synths to the mix on their sophomore album 'Brain Thrust Mastery.' This new album is a slight improvement over that record and their last, 'Barbara'. Personal standout tracks include Sprinkles and Slow Down. Full Review »
