  1. After 28 years, you'd think it would be tough coming up with new twists to captivate audiences. But apparently not for King George, whose latest album, Twang, is among the finest collections of songs he's released.
  2. To be sure, this is recognizably within his comfort zone--as always, when you do it as well as he does, there's no need to change--but beneath that supple exterior there are a few surprises, chief among them the re-emergence of Strait the songwriter.
  3. Do these self-penned songs explode like bottle rockets in the vast West Texas sky? No. They sound like George Strait songs, of course. But look, the dude's cut 57 No. 1 hits. Would you change your tune?
  4. Risky or not, Twang is nonetheless one of the more interesting permutations of the prototypical George Strait record.

George Strait is "The Man"! It's his "voice"! Say what you will, the man can sing! That is why he is "timeless". Now put him in his wranglers, a cowboy hat and flash that that killer smile...well..."I'm in love!" He's the best! He's "King George" and there is only one!! Expand

Nothing that hasn't been covered. Daniel gave it a zero because of the name of the album. I personally don't care what it's called. I care about the songs. Expand
