There isn't a wasted moment on the album, an expertly crafted triumph that succeeds by balancing addictive production and a concentrated thematic focus. Beyond the technical, Use Me is also an inspiration, a cathartic rebirth for Gunn where she can take full credit for doing all the work, embracing the pain and cleaning her wounds with strength and confidence.

The album in question is worth the wait though, a collection of polished alt-pop tracks with the band's consistently sparkling production, this time helmed by JT Daly with considerable input from vocalist Lynn Gunn.

It’s never derivative, nostalgic, or trying to be anything that it’s not. It’s a PVRIS album, packing in every quality that she’s built that name upon, while powered by a subtle forward motion. That every idea and sound heard is hers and she can finally, proudly take sole credit for that is to be celebrated.

‘Use Me’ is the sound of an artist flexing her muscles, making sense of and peace with her past and, most importantly, embracing a new future.

Expanding upon the electronic foundations laid so deftly with EP ‘Hallucinations’, there’s an assuredness to PVRIS’ latest move - especially during the affirming closer ‘Wish You Well’ - that shows off just how much she’s conquered.

Gunn’s perfectly snarling vocals amplified in intensity by the punchy production, it is a electric opener which sounds unmistakably PVRIS, just with a fresh energy.

Her third album leaves no stone unturned, turning darkness into sheer catharsis. Sounds like something we all could use.

It is possible to see a storyline that advances according to the songs and that makes us question our own lives, for example in "Dead Weight" and "Good To Be Alive". Expand

This album is reminiscent of the 90s trip hop with more energy. This album was an impulse buy. But I am glad I made it.

A fresh, softer, more pop-oriented sound that is still as dark and atmospheric as it has always been, albeit more mature. The lyrics are much more polished than before and the vocals truly shine through. Congratulations to the band for the great work. Expand

Not a bad album, I liked a couple of tracks, but I would call them tasteful, not for everyone, but the material is good
