This is furious but slick metalcore, but none the worse for that. [Nov 2012, p.103]
  2. Oct 23, 2012
It's not perfect by any means, but taking this for what it is, Vultures is a gnarly debut effort. [29 Sep 2012, p.52]
  3. Oct 23, 2012
Vultures isn't an album we'll be talking about 20 years from now, but for thrills, spills and hair-raising heaviness, it gets the job done in style.
  4. Oct 23, 2012
This balance between seriousness and metal excess is a tough one to pull off, but AxeWound manage it nicely, reining in the songs with enough genuine aggression that they're not in danger of devolving into parody.
  5. 50
It quickly loses its appeal and gives way to the feeling that this is a just reasonable thrash metal record.
  6. Nov 19, 2012
Vultures is best left lying alone amongst its metal clich├ęs and turgid song-writing.

A heavy and aggressive album that really delivers the point straight in your face. "Vultures" is a powerful debut album. Although not a masterpiece by any means, it's an awesome album if you take it for what it is. Full Review »
