From beginning to end, Caspian use their structural savoir faire to keep things moving, rarely giving in to passing fancies or individual showmanship.
  2. Oct 29, 2012
The album is a triumph, a huge step forward for a band that should be regarded as one of the best in the genre.
  3. Waking Season is the most dynamic and affecting record of this year and probably last year (too lazy to look).
  4. Oct 29, 2012
Words such as gorgeous, intricate, haunting, and even magnificent are easily applied across all 10 tracks here. [6 Oct 2012, p.54]
  5. Oct 29, 2012
A record that pushes the boundaries of post-rock to stratospheric new levels.

It's awesome. Caspian continue to be the most regal of the instrumental rock new school. It's gentle and melodic without resorting to the usual lattices of delayed guitar, heavy without stomping on the distortion pedal right when you'd expect, seven minutes of confident build and recession rich with melody and motion. Love you guys. Full Review »
