Everything is just so formulaic and empty. It goes nowhere, and really says nothing.

Horrible, I wish Bush come back soon.

This is a good record. This would be a mediocre Bush record at best, but it's a Gavin Rossdale solo cd. The hooks are plentiful...I'm assuming the Blender review was done ala Maxim's Black Crowes review. The chord progressions are a bit trite (hence my 8), but the production masks them with such an airy soundscape that I don't even mind after repeated listens.

More vapid than Bush, which is a pretty mean feat. Hats off, Mr. Rossdale.

Rossdale still has that sexy catch in his throat, but his new songs are ass, evoking a mealy-mouthed, cliché-ridden, bombastic Chris Cornell solo joint more than Bush, and whoever Auto-Tuned the vocals has some explaining to do.

Wanderlust is, at best, a bright collection of Daughtry-esque rock boasting anthems. [6 Jun 2008, p.117]
  3. Nothing here is complicated or profound; melodies go where you expect them to, while dynamics follow the quiet-loud pattern Nirvana turned into a recipe. Yet there's an appealing guilelessness to Rossdale's writing that gives the predictable a whiff of universality.
