Ace guitarist Louis Richter from Aussie band MidState Orange was recruited to be the "4th Lucksmith" for this album and the subsequent US tour. IMHO, his contributions push the music on Warmer Corners to a new level of greatness.

This is very fine indie pop. If you like Tigermilk, you will love this CD.

Tigermilk? Nah, they make Belle & Seabastian look like the Wu Tang Clan. But if you've always wanted to like B&S, but ended up wanting to slap them, you'll like this one.

  1. Warmer Corners is like most Lucksmiths records; it's meant to be swallowed whole, and in an age of singles with albums attached to them, it's both refreshing and nostalgic at the same time.
  2. It’s smart, depressing, inoffensive pop perfect for a rainy day.
  3. The happy-music-with-sad-lyrics shtick has been done often, but rarely so well since the Lucksmiths' namesakes.
