This is a permed, big-hair monster of a record, and even if the band's name makes no sense and other critics seemed to have turned their nose up to it, I like the nostalgic blast that this record brings forth.

Pop music styles change faster than they wear out, and Mohager convincingly makes the case that there is more to say in the music of the '80s, even if fashion has banished it to its own radio formats and nostalgia tours.

Wayward Fire swoons and grooves deliciously, but the lyrics have a distinctly processed flavor.

While Wayward Fire generates most of its energy from the more aggressive electro-pop numbers, its subdued and romantic synth moments are well-crafted and catchy. [Jul 2011, p.84]

Mohager ultimately forgets there's a fine line between homage and aping, but if your dream gift is a time capsule from the Reagan Years get ready to discover your new favorite record. [Jul 2011, p.107]

Mohager takes the propulsive beats of New Order and makes it his own for the modern club set. With a better editor, Mohager's future won't let up any time soon.

Wayward Fire continually misses a sweet spot between being lean and dirty enough to aerodynamically groove and being maximalist to the point where it opts out of that mode completely. And as a result, there's always that one last addition to the mix that sticks in your craw.

Through nostalgic sounds, Kamtin Mohager take us into the perfect sample of a teenager in pursuit of a glycosylated freedom through his desires.
