We Rose From Your Bed may be a live album, but it's much more investigative and surprising than most live offerings.

This current incarnation of Swans swim across the salty sea of the group's three-decade strong catalog, executing a balance of grind and grace that casts a new light on old classics.

While providing an exciting document of this stage of the band, We Rose From Your Bed… offers a tantalizing hint at what's to come.

It is the best Swans live record in that it distills the essential loss of agency one is meant to endure as best as two little discs can manage.

Visceral as hell, but also intellectually challenging, it perfectly captures the extremely intense experience of watching them live in their last tour. The album rotates within itself, in growing circular and pulsating motion and, as the songs -old and/or recent, even unpublished- tower, expand and melt with each other, they resonate with unfathomable power -sourly bathed in vitriol, feedback and repetition- in ears and, even on top of that, brain.
