The songs are mature but not boring; nicely layered but not overproduced; well executed but not sterile. [May 2006, p.164]
  2. Compared to Maritime's ragged debut, Glass Floor, the new record is a fountain of confidence, forgoing its predecessor's fussy arrangements for simple structures and big hooks.
  3. One of the biggest surprises of the year.
  4. While some tracks are absolutely reminiscent of these lads’ former bands... Maritime comes off most like Tahiti 80 or the Postal Service, crafting lofty, affable pop concerned with pristine beauty.
  5. The songwriting is strong enough and the arrangements appealing enough that We the Vehicles has a quiet pop charm all its own.
  6. If you are looking for light-as-air indie rock doused in melancholy, you won't do better than We, The Vehicles.

Pop perfection: this is a brilliant album, and a massive improvement over "Glass Floor." Has to be one of the year's best.

We, The Vehicles is the perfect follow-up to Glass Floor. This one actually rocks more like a DP rather than TPR album. The rhythm section is We, The Vehicles is the perfect follow-up to Glass Floor. This one actually rocks more like a DP rather than TPR album. The rhythm section is dead on. Its a shame that Eric is leaving the band. Collapse

An almost perfect pop record! Definitely one that has potential to grow even more on me. Has the feel of early Promise Ring with An almost perfect pop record! Definitely one that has potential to grow even more on me. Has the feel of early Promise Ring with instrumentation more like D-Plan's "Change," yet this release proves this band is much different. "Parade of Punk Rock T-Shirts" is by far the best song of the year thus far. Expand

This is a very catchy album. The best I've gotten in a few months. If you're thinking about it (obviously you are), go ahead and get it.

Wow, after the disappointment of their previous album, Glass Floor, this is quite a pleasant surprise. Easily the best Maritime work and Wow, after the disappointment of their previous album, Glass Floor, this is quite a pleasant surprise. Easily the best Maritime work and quite possibly the best work by Davie VanBohlen since The Promise Ring's "Nothing Feels Good." Pick this up immediately. Expand
