This album is close to simplistic perfection.

I'm no good at assigning things genres, but if you like chilled-out electronic dance you don't dance to, with melodies that take a few listens to come to love (but are enticing from the first listen), please try this. Hopefully if it remains high on the Metacritic score list, more people will. It's certainly a cut above muso coffee-table/clothes-shop/wine-bar muzak.

Best electronic album I've heard since M83 - Dead Cities. There's alot of feel in these tracks. I only wish more IDM was moving in this direction.

This is a wonderful album, but I still prefer Rest, his debut. I hope it sees a re-release soon, much like Luomo's similarly BRILLIANT Vocalcity did this past year.

While certainly not as immediate as Underworld, the album only requires a few listens before you're caught.

...agree with juice, its a seriously good album, best electronic album Ive heard in a couple of years, and possibly, the greatest album of all time!

If avant-garde theatrical troupe Blue Man Group were ever to make a "proper" album, it would probably sound a lot like the electronically gorgeous Wearemonster.

The best dance album since Leftfield's Leftism. Superb.

I have not felt such an elctro-rush since Underworld's 'Second Toughest in the Infants' graced my ears. A sheer delight.

  1. We Are Monster is one of those fun albums that sounds great whether you're in the mood to move or just sitting down and listening on headphones as you ride to work on the bus.
  2. If it's not a truly inspiring album, it's nevertheless undeniably impressive.
  3. Five years on, We Are Monster finds Raijko Muller so confident and articulate that Rest comes off in comparison like a set of hastily scrawled clutch notes.
