This album is miles better than "Extended Play". Statik Selektah brings great production with a great use of jazz and soul production. A majority of the features do their thing. This is a great album and definitely a contender for one of the best albums of the year so far.

this album was extremely dope. from the start to end. anything Statik Selektah does or touches is gonna be golden. Extended Play was good also. this is the best LP of the year, in my opinion.

All told, the LP stands as a convincing counterargument against those who claim hip-hop’s ’90s golden era can’t come back again.

The highlights continue, and come from many different styles of underground hip-hop, so put Statik somewhere between Tony Touch and the Alchemist on the short list of producers/DJs who also offer solid albums.

While the compilation deejay/producer album tends to have it’s share of woes as too many cooks spoil the broth, Statik Selektah balances out this tendency with solid production that invokes images of the days of Hip Hop yore.
