Here Babs goes bigger, singing the natural-fiber stuffing out of 10 dramatic tearjerkers by her old pals Alan and Marilyn Bergman.

The state of the art recording ensures that this is another unmissable feast of song from an artist seemingly unstoppable in her continuing quest to present something new to her worldwide audience.

As always, though, Streisand sings the material like it was written expressly for her, elongating phrases at will and slowing most of the tempos to a luxurious Old Hollywood crawl. What matters most? Babs' bliss.

  1. After making a BEELINE to Barnes and Noble on Tuesday to pick up an additional copy of Barbra Streisand's AMAZING, new CD - (I had ordered my original copy from QVC in order to get the DVD, but it hasn’t arrived yet and there was NO WAY I was going to miss hearing a “new Barbra CD” on the day it was released), I could not get back to my car and to my CD player fast enough!!!! I have been waiting for the release of this album with such bated breath; I can't even begin to explain. Needless to say, I’ve been in absolute heaven playing this masterpiece over and over and over for three days straight!!! I just cannot get enough of Barbra's GLORIOUS voice singing these magnificent songs!!!! Her ingenious rendition of “Windmills” is so moving and so incredibly beautiful I totally fell in love with that song. Of course I had heard it sung by others before, but I have NEVER, EVER heard anyone sing it like Barbra! BEYOND AMAZING!!! As for "I'll Never Say Goodbye", there are just no words to describe how much that song got to me. I had heard her sing it live at her MusiCares Tribute last February and It has stayed in my head and in my heart ever since that AMAZING night, and has been haunting me ever since! I could not wait to hear it on this album and it totally blew me away all over again!!!! After playing those two songs first, and being completely floored, I put on my seatbelt and got ready to blast off, and did I EVER! Each and every track was a new adventure and thrill! I took the LOOOONG way home just to keep listening never wanting to leave my car. Barbra's voice and her incredible style on this album are just mesmerizing. She just never ceases to amaze me and if it’s even possible, she has surpassed and exceeded even MY expectations. I knew this album would be a masterpiece, but WOW!!!! I am just overcome!!! Another work of genius for Barbra Streisand and another Barbra CD that I will cherish FOREVER!!!! Barbra, YOU are "What Matters Most" in so many wonderful ways! THANK YOU BARBRA, WE LOVE YOU!!!!!!
