If you're a fan, Where You Live is classic Chapman. [Oct 2005, p.94]
  2. Where You Live is yet another elegant and easy album from Chapman, just the kind her fan base has come to expect.
  3. Chapman is an eloquent lyricist with a strong social conscience, but she's also a superb songwriter and musician and Where You Live contains several instances of low key beauty.
  4. 70
Given her almost unremittingly bleak subject matter, it helps enormously that she's blessed with a unique voice. [Oct 2005, p.108]
  5. 70
The arrangements are lean but wonderfully evocative... while Chapman's lyrics remain memorable and affecting. [Oct 2005, p.136]
  6. She's still on fine, if depressing form.
  7. The album distinguishes itself from Chapman's previous releases with its stellar studio band and its refusal to submit to pop production. [17 Sep 2005]
  8. In many ways Chapman just sings the same song over and over. [Oct 2005, p.115]

This is awesome !! She is a great poet and 'America' clearly portrays the situation in America during the hurricanes (Katrina and New Orleans). This lady is a legend, she is my heroine. Full Review »
