  1. Uncut
    80
By far their boldest statement yet. [Apr 2007, p.92]
  2. Why Bother? is even more radical [than its predecessor], pairing dead-calm passages with weird and often downright evil-sounding electronics that recall Throbbing Gristle and Wolf Eyes.
  3. Urb
    80
Adult. is cathartic cabaret for the sketched out. [Apr 2007, p.101]
  4. Filter
    76
A depraved collection of indigestible tracks. [#24, p.99]
  5. There’s something oddly accessible about the mess the duo make on Why Bother?
  6. ADULT. are an awesome band that have yet to make an awesome album. This one, however, is still pretty damn good.
  7. As their music has grown more detailed, the details have become ever more foreboding.
  8. 'Why Bother' is a testing listen, of course, and after a while the vocals can begin to make your brain start to dissolve in minor whirlpools.
  9. Why Bother? may not have quite the same sonic guitar depth as Gimme Trouble, but the mechanical, industrial-punk synth work, inching closer to perfection with each release, does an admirable job of filling in the aural gaps.
  10. Under The Radar
    70
Chaotic blips and tweaks break on an undercurrent of distorted low-end grumblings, all laying a wobbly foundation for Nicola Kuperus’s wraithlike vocals. [#17, p.95]
  11. It's a little disappointing that none of the band's stylistic shifts have let them bloom into much more, but as furrows for ploughing go, this one's still pretty fascinating, and still all theirs.
