Unbelievable album...forget Hendrix, Clapton, Satriani...Beck is in his own class.

The only guitarist still striving to go beyond the guitars limitations. Bravo Mr. Beck.

This album rocks harder than anything I've heard in 10 years. Best listened to at maximum volume in a large block V8 Chevy whilst cruising at a high rate of speed. Or after drinkin' a few beers with your mates out in the garage on a Friday night.

Ignore all the blathering. Beck tears it up on this CD. Turn it up and go for a ride. He is about the only guitar player who sounds like a voice. This CD burns new synapses in to you head.

...this forawrd-thinking veteran now sounds comfortable melding his adventurous fret work with studio wizardry. [2/9/01, p.78]
  2. You Had It Coming stands as his best work since 1989's Guitar Shop.

Guitar-heads will automatically buy this, but it also deserves to reach any audiences excited by imaginative music working outside commercial boundaries.
