The Subways are a good punk rock British band. Young For Eternity really shows it. They have great punk rock tracks but they also switch to acoustic soft melodies at times and it's a really great transition. All In All, Young For Eternity is a great punk rock debut. B+ Expand

As a debut album from young kids, it sounds really promising. It's a straightforward album, in which simplicity and honesty dominates all the songs. No fancy riffs and adornments, just plain teeny rock n' roll / punk. The instrumentals aren't outstanding, but they are competent. this is just to even out what Kid A and TG Corke marked the album. No album should get a 0.

A damn fun album, definately kicking the shit out of the other "BIG BRITISH THING" thing from this year, Arctic Monkeys. It's just fun, brainless RAWK.

Absolutely pathetic band, terrible album, derivative kiddie rubbish, unoriginal, bland, unimaginative...need I say more? There is only one band worse than Fall Out Boy, and that band is The Subways. Horrific 'music' right here.

While the songwriting isn't mind-blowing, the subways combine the simplicity of nirvana with a vines type sound and enforce it all with their passion and energy to create a great debut that truly hints at great things to come

Simple, but damn good fun. Sometimes it's a bit trying but often it's either spot on good rock n roll or actually pretty.

Oasis do it better. Not a bad album, but as said, Oasis do the same better.

i agree that they are getting a little too much attention, but hey, they are good. i don't think that girl can sing, but she still kicks ass.

I agree with the All Music Guide review that they are too beholden to their influences - but unlike that reviewer, I don't think they are pleasant to hear.

Exceptional technical ability, lyrical insight far beyond their years and unbridled exuberance merge into one of the most promising rock entrances since Radiohead's "Pablo Honey." [18 Feb 2006]
