  1. Full of distortion-drenched vocals and slacker guitar lines, Yucca is a brilliantly messy thing.

Milk Maid's songs are a little overfamiliar in their approach, relying too much on the crude clash of sunny melodies against serrated sound. But part of the reason why so many bands return to this style is that it's easy to reproduce and has a basic appeal--so catchy, so rough.

Regardless of how they describe it, it's all code for "this sounds absolutely awful." There's really no excuse for something that sounds this bad in 2011 except as an aesthetic choice.
