I love it!!!! It's not as good as Siamese Dream or Mellon Collie, but it's arguably the best thing they've done since 1995. Welcome back, Pumpkins!

One of the best albums of the year. Zeitgeist contains the best of the smashing pumpkins first era. Enjoyable & necessary for this bad times of music.

It's alright if a bit disappointing. I don't hear much emotion or interesting and experimental music like I've come to expect from Corgan, and I feel this album was basically built to be as catchy as possible to win over a lot of new fans. I don't think this matches up to their earlier works at all...even Machina which gets way too much flack is better than this. But all in all, I don't hate this album. I've just come to expect more from my favourite songwriter. The production and especially the multitude of vocal harmonies are huge minuses here. Please refrain from overcooking the next album Mr. Corgan.… Expand

The best band album since siamese dream!

I only bought this record because the Pumpkins were one of my favorite bands of the 90s. I expected it to be bad, but I have been pleasantly surprised. It is definitely worth buying.

Billy Corgan like all smart musicians understands his strengths and plays to them. The same clash of gloomy and uplifting, of heavy guitars and melodic vocals that made The Smashing Pumpkins take off in the first place is still evident here and it still sounds good

Critics have been bashing the pumpkins since siamese dream and its crap. This cd is absolutely stellar. There best? Of course not, but its hard rocking very solid cd and i was expecting something softer, more akin to his solo stuff or zwan. so so SO happy with this..critics are douchebags

Because Billy doesn't have james and d'arcy everyones gonna moan that its not the pumpkins which i don't understand cause billy pretty much did everything! This is a solid album and I think it's one of the best albums of the year along with Year Zero and its a hell of a lot better then the "music" thats doing the MTV circuit these days....

Mixed emotions. Rocking but not as good as past efforts. The songs don't quite stay in your mind... Talent and effort is there though... Albeit too much.

Even though the whole album isn't absolutely fantastic, it is necessary to say that "Doosmday Clock", "Starz", "United States", and "Bleeding the Orchids" are excellent songs. My personal favorite is "Starz", which, in my opinion, is already one of the best Pumpkins tracks ever. I really liked this new line-up! Billy Corgan, Jimmy Chamberlain and the new members have good taste in music! The other albums will probably be great, since they're touring together for the first time.… Expand

Boring, without soul, easy but noone sober expected more. Worst album of the band. Corgan totally lost it. Neverlost and tarantula save from disaster.

A wholly satisfying album-length recall of the "Zero" single - which is a good thing. Gothy, glammy, even dancey at times.

I don't care who wrote the album, played the parts and the politics surrounding it. Based on the music itself, I find it a satisfying album. If the heavier songs are "modern rock", it's far better than the current understudies are producing. A point deduction for Billy feeling the need to tell me he's found Jesus again in no less than two songs. Don't care. Otherwise, decent album with the second half of United States standing out especially.… Expand

(Sigh) I just wish people would learn how to mix albums. I know I may not like some albums direction (in sound) but I can appreciate it, and believe me, it makes a difference if you have an outside producer and mixer do the entire record. And not someone from the band, believe me I've noticed it. And this album suffers from it massively. It sounds unbalanced and all over the place. Billy Corgans vocals are up way to high in the mix, buzzing away in your head. It gets tiring, and after the first listen its obvious that this is not the album people wanted to here. The thing that annoys me is how bad some bands are getting, I can appreciate bands getting worse out better now, I'm used to it. The only band I have some faith in now is "Our Lady Peace" at least their records aren't bland.… Expand

Where is James and Darcy? Corgin needs these limiters to keep his direction focused. Overall, this album sounds like a pitiful attempt from Corgin to prove himself, when he has already done this. Instead, he listens to a "hard rock" producer and tries and fails and politic rock. If you have fallen in love with earlier SP and their inward music than don't go and drown yourself in this disappointing buzz.… Expand

I'm a very poor fan of heavy metal, but this is actually a very good album. I really enjoyed the guitar. It's a bit of a change from Smashing Pumpkins previous work.

Easily the best actual rock album in years. From start to finish this album delivers. With hints of older Pumpkins, like Siamese Dream, but with a newer updated sound (if the same thing was done over and over it would become dull). Raw, heavy and dynamic - this album was clearly well thought out with a purpose in mind. So to those critics who rated this album low - maybe stick to the generic radio rock that you rated highly and has no impact what so ever. I have been a pumpkins lover (Billy Corgan fan) since I was 13. I am now 26. I bought all the albums, flew from California to Chicago for their last show at United Center. Stood 8 hours at Tower records like the other crazies just to shake the guys hand and tell him that I loved his music. I bought Zwan's Mary of the whatever.... and went to their show. I even went drove to Hollywood to get his poetry book signed. Saw his "solo" act, although I relented to buy the album. I did buy Zeitgeist, and I have listened to it all the way through..and all I can say is I'm done, and here is why. Moment of Truth: I have been lying to myself about my undying love for this guys music/talent. Not only has my love for anything this guy (Corgan) does diminished. I can honestly say I can't stand it anymore. When I heard of this reunion I was excited...but as soon as I realized it was not without the other members...I lost all hope in it. Billy Corgan is living up to his own idea of who he should be. However, he has let the press/media dictate and influence everything he has done after Adore...suprisingly that was his last great effort. Machina II should have been the album he released after Adore...but no! We got Zwan and whatever was supposed to come after that. ( to his credit "for your love" was one of the most beautiful songs I have ever heard-NOT ON THE ALBUM THOUGH IS IT?) Corgan punishes himself with what he thinks others should think about him and whatever legacy he will leave behind, he wants to write his own history, and as much as he says he could really give a fuck what people say, guess what Corgan!? I'm sick of people panning this album because they think Billy Corgan's a jerk. That has little if anything to do with the music. And if Billy Corgan is only interested in the money, then why oh why did he release an LP and 3 EPs for FREE in 2000 (Machina II) and why did he perform a tour where he donated almost all of the proceeds to charity? Ginger and Jeff are better instrumentalists than D'arcy and James, but it matters very little since Corgan almost never allows anyone but Jimmy and him to record tracks for albums (this goes back as far as Siamese Dream). Also, this records sounds nothing like Top 40 metal, emo, or hard rock, and the people who are claiming it does obviously haven't listened to the album at all, or are hoping they can make their mark on the world by trying to derail an album by bitching about it online. If you think this album is simple and trashy, try analyzing it with music theory and see for yourself that its not as simplistic as you may think. This is a good Pumpkins album, better than Machina and probably better than Adore to most part-time Pumpkins fans. Yes, the mixing has some bizarre choices, but the selection of songs is far from sub-par. Give this album an chance and check out the Pumpkins in concert (they put on a great show!).… Expand

Upon listening to the live stream promo release of the Smashing Pumpkins new album Zeitgeist, I wasn't very impressed. The definitive Pumpkins sound was in there somewhere, but I thought it was lost in the mix somehow. The vocals were too sharp and high in the mix and the layered vocals bordered on ridiculous in songs like Starz. Moreover, Jimmy Chamberlin's excellent drumming was buried in some parts. Perhaps working with Roy Thomas Baker (producer for Queen, The Cars...) was a mistake? Maybe recording the album with Butch Vig (Nevermind, Siamese Dream) would have been a better idea, to help recapture the magic of old? Tonight I received an email telling me I could download my pre-order of Zeitgeist through iTunes (normally I don't buy lossy music but I wanted the code for advance concert ticket orders). After loading it into my iPod I settled in to give the album a proper listen and decide whether my original impression of the album would stand. Firstly, the album version sounds much better than the internet streams and leaks. Anyone who steals this album and thinks is sounds bad needs to take a listen from a CD or official source. It is amazing how much worse a badly compressed file can sound. If the iTunes version sounds this good, then I am getting the CD ASAP to see if it is even better. The production is very clean, and while I would still have liked the vocals to be mixed slightly lower, I feel that I can live with them as the guitars now hold their own and the drums are solid. The album doesn't sound like any other Pumpkins record so comparisons can be thrown out the window but dark and sultry are the closest adjectives I can find to describe the production. Upon pressing play, the album launches into overdrive with tracks, Doomsday Clock and 7 Shades of Black. The buzzing drone of Doomsday Clock channels a more radio friendly version of Bodies from MCIS, and 7 Shades recalls the track Dross from the group's free internet release Machina II, with a little bit of Geek USA and Sabbath thrown in for good measure. Unfortunately, missing is the fast/slow dynamic of earlier Pumpkins songs. Still, very solid tracks. Bleeding the Orchid is a dark, undulating track that continues the dark tone of the album, and sounds like a long lost b-side from Gish. This track is the first to make apparent the trend of vocal layering used throughout the album, for good or bad. In a wash of warm faded guitars, Thats the Way (My Love Is) reminds of a Zwan take on Stand Inside Your Love. "Of course I love you baby/'cause i'm alive" sings Billy, and one can't help but wonder if he is speaking to former lover Courtney Love. Before listening to Tarantula, it is apparent that the lyrics of Zeitgeist are pseudo-political from lines like "in whitewashed halls/their jackals lick their paws...", but after listening to Tarantula it becomes apparent what the title Zeitgeist (The Spirit of the times) means. If the lyrics "don't let me say this/but you're no worse than me/its crazy/we are the real/if real ever was/and just because/we are the real/they feel we have enough" aren't enough to interpret Billy's motives, the not too subtle single cover with Paris Hilton standing in front of a mushroom cloud with a Blackberry in hand completely gives them away. The concept of the album centers around America's apathy and languorous attitude concerning the political and social climate produced by our leaders and felt by people around the world. Indeed, the climate of bloggers and MySpace has led to a public more interested in Britney's Spears' haircut than more serious subjects. Although Billy admits, Paris and his listeners are no worse than him, as we are all "Starz". Someone, (the internet, paparazzi, corporations?) gave us sound. Starz is a repetitive, David Bowie/Ziggy Stardust homage with more vocal layering which reaffirms the earlier thematic elements discussed. After Starz, the album reaches it's climax with the rollicking 9:51 minute track United States. This track is indulgent, but it is nevertheless impressive and obviously meant to be a live jam track with warbled guitars and Billy exclaiming "revolution!/what will they do to you?". The bombastic United States is followed by a 1979 inspired track Neverlost with marimbas in the background. Although many will skip this track while listening to the album, it is important because it sets the tone for the second half of the album which turns from dark and brooding to hopeful. "Lets kill these hours/and fill desire" Billy croons in this love song. Bring the Light, is the newest sounding song on the album, and although repetitive, it sounds like a radio single with its catchy lyrics and Brian May/Ava Adore guitar solo. (Come On), Lets Go! is Pop-Grunge (oxymoron?) at its finest and is somehow eerily similar to Today. Billy sings about escaping "c'mon lets go/beyond the great unknown/beyond their punched-up skulls/to die upon this road". C'mon Billy, any Grunge fan knows it's not a great unknown it's a "Superunknown". The final two songs sound very much out of place. Billy slips back into dark and brooding mode with "God and Country" which sounds like a b-side from Adore or Machina with its synth-pop mechanics. However, it would never fit on those albums with its political message. Pomp and Circumstance is difficult to describe but if you have seen movies like 1492: Conquest of Paradise, or other period exploration movies you will recognize the influence. The Tribal Island sounds remind of perhaps The Thin Red Line? The song is hopeful. So thematically, it fits the arch of sounds Billy has created, but still somehow it still doesn't seem to fit. Zeitgeist judged against other Pumpkins works isn't their best and isn't their worst. As noted in many web forums, Jame Iha and D'arcy Wretsky had very little to do with the recording of the classic Pumpkins records so it is difficult to say if their influence is missed here. The Smashing Pumpkins are an ever changing sound imagined by Billy Corgan and made possible by the remarkable rhythms produced by Jimmy Chamberlin. Each Pumpkins album is different and meant to be appreciated on its own, and on its own Zeitgeist is great. Highlights for me are: 7 Shades, Bring the Light, Tarantula, Starz, Bleeding the Orchid, and (Come On).… Expand

As a huge Pumpkins fan, I can't say I was overly hopeful for this album, based on Corgan's solo output and the debacle that was Zwan. However, I was pleasantly surprised by `Doomsday Clock`, which launches the album with a crunching riff and catchy chorus. I also found myself nodding away to `7 Shades of Black` and the crisp guitars of `Bleeding the Orchid` were evocative of the Siamese Dream era. A fantastic opening threesome. However, as I listened further, I had a sinking feeling...the spectre of Zwan loomed large in most of the tracks, which are too poppy, and when an attempt is made to reconnect with the classic Pumpkins sound, we get a meandering dirge called `United States` which is possibly the most boring song the Pumpkins have ever recorded. The album is roughly on the same level as `Machina`, although without a song as rocking as `Everlasting Gaze` or beautiful as `Stand Inside Your Love`, you would probably have to say it's weaker, and, as such, is the worst album the Pumpkins have yet recorded.… Expand

The Smashing Pumpkins are truly back. Recapturing the heavy sound from Gish and Siamese Dream. All tracks will capture your attention and you will love the new direction the Pumpkins are going in! If you are into the heavy, intense sounding Smashing Pumpkins..this is the right album for you!

What's with the production...I can't get over how strange the mix is...the over layerd vocals sound wierd in some places and Billy's voice lacks the shrill bite that I'm used to. Again, in comparison to what else is out there...this album beats the crap out of it. All the new rockers could take a lesson from this stuff, but for S.Pumpkins status it's just okay. Well, it's really good, very creative, strong melodies...but the punch isn't all quite there. There are moments when the music sounds intensely beautiful, or intensely dark...but the moments are far between. At least the Pumpkins have turned from the mainstream mush they seemed destined for with they're last two albums. Maybe the new lineup is a benefit in that sense...in all I'm impressed that the two remaining members can still push the band to these levels. A little more TLC on these songs might have been welcome.… Expand

While it isn't a masterpiece like Siamese Dream, its artistic, heavy and inspiring all in one. Do yourself a favor, get some good speakers (bose), pop in the CD, crank it and listen to Doomsday Clock........if you don't get goosebumps within the first minute, check your pulse. I've been seeing bad reviews all day about this album and its not shocking, great art is not understood by all. best album of 2007!

It is unfortunate that critics have almost uniformly decided to measure this album against the highest achievements of the band. When assessed independently of the Pumpkins oeuvre, Zeitgeist proves to be a forceful and fun contribution to rock music. If any other band put out this record, it would be on all the critical year-end lists that matter.

An excellent album, has some good rockers. Give it time to sink in, you might not like it at first. Definitely worth buying, the bonus tracks are great as well.

I was a huge SP fan, I still listen at the old records and I think I will stick with them as Zeitgeist is pretty average. The SP's soul is definitively missing, it's like B. Corgan took some singing lessons or maybe he is finally happy, but i still wonder where all that beautiful, powerful, depressed and epic songs are gone . I reckon their last record (and masterpiece) is Mellon Collie, they should have retired since then. This is just an attempt to copy themselves, some bits are quite catchy though, but the overall is letting me down (although they are waaay better than some overhyped new alt rock bands). I really enjoy this album. It isn't a classic album like siamese melon collie, or gish, but it is both better than anything since and such a refreshingly good album in this day and age of dead mainstream rock. It is signature pumpkins music, albeit the harder edge of their leanings, but there is a good poppy song or 2 for you 1979 folks, as well as the seemingly unavoidable appearance of a bland billy C love song, which occur on most all pumpkins records. Jimmy bangs the hell out of the drums, and Corgan melts faces on the guitar. His voice has thankfully remained strong. The howling "Owwww!!" in the 10 minute "United States" sums up my feelings pretty well about this album. A Refreshing Blast of badly missed Pumpkins energy. Bring on more SP albums!!… Expand

I did not expect to love this album, but as a someone who came up with 90s rock, it provides nostalgia and relevancy if that is possible. It's obvious that if the Pumpkins had made this album as a follow up to Melancollie, there wouldn't be any doubt to the group's greatness, but it came ten years too late for the "experts."

An awesome, almost perfect album, receiving the same critical abuse as every other Pumpkins record ever released. Exploring new production techniques is as interesting as their exploration of new musical territory. Production in rock music has become stale and standardized; this is a break from that cement concept, which is good to hear, if a little odd at first listen. This album has captivated me entirely; the fact that NME doesn't like it (or more likely doesn't like Billy) makes not the slightest shade of difference to me. I pity those who take anothers' opinions as their own - especially taking them from the music press; the same press that has dogged pretty much all of the greatest bands and albums of all time. It is all just subjective opinion. Why not make up your own mind and stop reading reviews? Including this one.… Expand

This album is better than Machina and Adore but not as good as Gish, SD and MCATIS. The former two had that electro-clatter that stripped the music of soul and that wonderful organis cound they had. Fortunately the organic sound is back. CAN YOU GET YOUR HEAD AROUND THAT, WAYNE B???

I am a pumpkin fan of the 1st order and i can say I really like this album! It is really diverse! i like especially 'Bleeding the orchid', 'Bring the light' and Come on let's go. But also Tarantula and United States rock!. Maybe some tunes are 'easy', but so?? they do rock deeply :-) What i find intriguing is that the especially the people that criticize this album almost all do cherry some songs on the album, but they do not seem to agree which are the good one and which are the bad ones. One thing for sure 'Pomp and Cirumstances' is not the best song of the album. :-)… Expand

I made the large mistake of wanting to love this album and should have known if will never reach the pinacle of before. I feel like billy is caught in between trying to please himself and his fans of old. This in turn produces what has turned out to be a very medieocre record that has a distinct heavier side to it, but nothing new and inspiring that you would expect from billy like he gave us in machina and ava adore....not to mention his solo album (which I quite liked) 3 of the 5 points go towards that hot new bassist....damn!… Expand

I think this is the return to form without repeating the past that Billy and Jimmy needed to pull off in order to brand themselves the Pumpkins. There is a little of everything except acoustic guitar on this album, although Pomp and Circumstance is pretty mellow. If you want loud, crunchy guitar riffing and massive intricate drumming this is a great album.

They actually put out a good album!!! Hopefully its quality will put to rest the anti-Corgan press. All hail BmfnC.

Solid. I feel like I'm back in the 90s.

Zeitgeist is a consistent and enjoyable record that nurses long-time fans of the band back into good health after a distinctively commercial marketing campaign involving big-budget hollywood epics (Michael Bay's Transformers) and exlusive deals with various supermarket franchises (recieving alternative versions of the album) appeared to offer a bleak vision of a 21st century Pumpkins - one minus the alternative spirit that made this band so dear to us all. Fortunately, the album delivers the trademark pumpkins sound without sounding rehashed. The sound is loud and aggressive, full of a politically charged bombast that (argueably) constitutes the most socially 'relevent' material corgan has participated in. Sonically, its simple: - Fans of Gish, SD (PI) & MCIS will be utterly satisfied, proclaiming the album the bands best since 1995. - Fans of Adore, Machina & Machina 2 will find the album enjoyable but ultimately lacking. Overall, Zeitgeist is a welcome return from a sorely missed band, assualting you sonically and delivering enjoyabel, consistent rock n roll that ultimately fails to take the band to new heights.… Expand

I had to listen several times before the hooks caught on and the feeling sunk in. On my first listen I wasnt sure... After a few more listens, my opinion changed dramatically. While this album does contain 2 of the worst songs billy may ever write, it also contains some of the most infectious songs of the year. Worth every penny for Tarantula, Doomsday, Neverlost, Thats the way, and Bring the Light. However, DO NOT give pomp and Circumstance or United States a 2nd chance they sound aweful every time. How anyone (whether they be a Pumpkins addict or a passing fan) can rate this album as a 9 or 10 out-of-10 is beyond me. Even 8 seems far too generous but I suppose this band just has that type of fan. This is a bland and disappointing LP. There are some flashes of brilliance, but on the whole the album is astonishingly bad. Although I have listened via compressed means, the vocal recordings are lack-lustre and the production could have been stepped-up a notch or two. Won't bore you with a break-down of songs, but the fact that BC thought that 'Pomp and Circumstance' was good enough for release is amazing. Pretentiousness is back.… Expand

This album is what adore should of been. its a step forward from mellon collie, its more than just solid. its full of great musicianship. its quite heavy and it seems jimmy took it up a notch with his drumming (united States). this is an essential album for the typical smashing pumpkins fan..

It no doubt has it moments, but let's be honest here folks, if this were a Zwan album or a Corgan solo effort fans alike would be saying wtf? A Smashing Pumpkins logo does not automatically create a great album. It's simply mascarades what this release truly is, a mediocre effort.

I really wanted this to work and I understand all Pumpkins fans wanting this badly, but the overly positive comments about this album really bemuse me. Although there are a few good tunes this is not a even a Pumpkins record & I think that it's a telling sign that many critics are not even talking about the music but the way this so called 're-union' happened and the motives behind it. Meh... Few reviews of the album actually bother to rate the music, itself. They all piss and moan about motives, the past, why James and D'Arcy apparently made the Smashing Pumpkins who they were (which is kind of false in a lot ways). For once, I couldn't be more opposed to the current Metacritic rating. Billy just can't ever win... I hope the fan response helps.

Personally, I find it appalling that many critics (I've read more than just this selection) aren't talking about the music at all. They're going on and on about the band drama while SP has released a nice little album here. You know what? I hope this work is successful because these critics clearly aren't doing their jobs. Songs like "United States", "7 shades of black" "That's the way", 'Bring the Light" and "Tarantula" are really good songs and are worthy of the SP moniker. Lets face it. its no S/D or Mellon/c. But serious what will ever be as great as those albums ever. I give it an 8 just because i'm glad they stuck with that they do best.. Rock and Roll. and for all you people that don't like For god and country, i dont know whats wrong with you, its a great song. sometimes you listen to something, you don't like but then after awhile it grows on you. I think all the songs are tight. i'm not really diggin the last song thou But 4 all you people you should really check out (death from above) its the bonus track. they should of placed that 4 the end song.. who mixed this album? it sounds like corgan doing karaoke. oh yeah and it's boring. the sound of a desperate man-child lost adrift in a sea of his own delusions of grandeur.

First, let's remember that 6 is better than average. I think the first thing that struck me was that after several listens I was still having problems telling the songs apart. "Bleeding the Orchid" is excellent. "United States" is a bloated mess that doesn't go anywhere. I see a lot of comments elsewhere that hail "United States" as ambitious and far reaching, but I can't see that. I am a fan of long epic songs and this has none of that grandious. It just goes on and on and on. "Taranlula" is fantastic, but it is nearly the only song on the album (with the exception of "Bleeding the Orchid") That has any dynamic to the song writing. People will trash "Pomp and Circumstance" but I think it is pretty ambitous, if not a bit dated sounded (Peter Gabriel anyone?). The Pumpkins have never really sounded the same twice and this is really no exection, but it seems they forgot that in addition to writing face melting riffs they also have some beauty to offer the world.… Expand

Corgan's attempt to find the Smashing Pumpkins of old is lost somewhere between his greedy wallet and his "new and improved" lineup.

I guess most people just overestimated their ability. We all think Billy doesn't dare to make just an ordinary "brilliant cd". We all expected masterpiece like.

After the 1st listen or 2 I was wondering how much I actually liked it. After 3 or 4 listenings with headphones (A MUSH FOR THIS ALBUM) it really grew on me. Then I added the 3 "bonus" tracks: Stellar, Death From Above, and Zeitgeist to make the album 15 songs and I must say it is excellent. Very hard to compare to their previous CDs, because it has a little from each in it. Please do yourself the favor of listening to this at least 3 times with decent headphones and add the 3 bonus tracks before you make a judgement. Trust me, you will love it. These idiot critics I am sure listened to it once and hate Billy Corgan anyway (all most talk about is the band's history, not the album itself). SP IS BACK!!!!… Expand

Good album

Kind of sucks. They don't seem to be having any fun. The sound, the songwriting, even the video confirm this. Funny, if songs like 'Tonight' and '1979' came out now they would probably still be big hits. Corgan used to write good songs and his guitar solos would support the song. Now the songs merely serve the solos. It comes off sounding self indulgent. Corgan needs to get his sense of humor back before he drowns in his own ego.… Expand

Great album.

Something is missing. I don't care for the production and the songs are mediocre when compared to Corgan's past work. Sounds a bit rushed, lacks a center, and is missing some of the magic and unique charm that made ALL past Pumpkin albums memorable.

It's not very good. The songs are empty and passionless, and don't retain any of the magic of the older material. It's all a blistering attack lacking the softness to contrast it. Corgan used to be able to blend both of these elements seemlessly in one song, but seems unable now. And on the half-assed attempts at softness, they're cold and icy a la TheFutureEmbrace. It's a mashup of Machina, Zwan, and his solo album, and in this instance, no one wins. It does show promise, though, and leads me to believe that the next album is going to be something special.… Expand

The same ingenious Corgan songwriting and loud guitars from Machina and MCIS. Although his lyrics seem a bit more Zwan-ish, nothing short of amazing.

After 7 years Billy Corgan seems to have forgot the formula to making a great music but his lyrics still rock!

This ablum stands alone as some of the best work TSP has done yet todate, I hope there is more to come :)

Fun, heavey, fast and very smashing. If your a fane of the old stuff, you are bound to injoy this album.

Honestly, this album would be a terrific freshman release. Feels deflated and humdrum, compared to the songwriting brilliance and dynamic brilliance of Dream and even Melloncollie... Very much feels like SP, but without the 'fist in the air' 'careening off the road' adolescence that made the older stuff so much better. It's just ok.

They are back and its great to have them! Bleeding The Orchid should change anyones mind who has written them off due to the line up!
