Alan is host of Night Owls on Metro Radio - Britain's most listened to phone in show, being number one for over ten years. In that role he has raised over £10million pounds for charity, being president of Guide Dogs for the Blind, Patron of St. Oswalds hospice, Chairman of MIND, Patron of Operation Christmas Child (The Shoe Box appeal) and over 20 other charitable roles.

He has broken world records on three occasions, The World Kissing Record and two for the world's biggest ghost hunts.

He has won over fifty radio awards including a Sony for top radio personality, New York radio award, Top Independent DJ in Melody Maker, New Musical Express, Kerrang, Smash Hits and many more. His wide appeal has also featured him in polls in as diverse publications as Chat, Bella and Electronics Monthly.

He is the undisputed king of the Roadshow with his dance troupes The Bladettes, The Flashettes and The Little Sparks, hosting shows for Queen, Rod Stewart, Bryan Adams, Guns n Roses, Tina Turner, U2, Status Quo, Dire Straits and many more.

Alans other claims to fame include being featured twice in the Millennium Dome, having his own Agony Uncle page in the Sunday Sun and being awarded an MBE in the 1994 New Years Honours List for his service to broadcasting.

Along with TV, adverts, theatre productions and being published, I guess you could say Alan has achieved quite a bit throughout his career.

You can hear Alan rule the air-waves Sunday to Thursday 10pm-2am with the Night Owls.
